The Reality of Bankruptcy: The Price of Wiping Out 10 Million Yen in Debt... A Breakdown of the 900,000 Yen Total and Behind-the-Scenes Production
Hello, this is Daiki.
Thank you as always for watching 'The Intelligent Blue-Collar Worker's Prison Break Diary'.
In this post, I will be discussing the commentary and behind-the-scenes production of the YouTube video I released recently: 'The Reality of Bankruptcy: 900,000 Yen Total? Breaking Out of the 10 Million Yen Debt Hell and the Price of Resetting My Life'.
You can watch the full video here.
■ Commentary and Highlights of This Video
My previous 'Complete Prison Break Manual' received a great response, and I received many DMs and comments from people suffering from debt just like I was. That is why I decided to disclose the 'real money talk' that everyone is most curious about without holding anything back.

To start with the conclusion of the video, the cost I incurred to legally wipe out 10 million yen in debt across 13 companies was approximately 900,000 yen.
The breakdown consists of about 710,000 yen in fees to the law firm and 200,000 yen in trustee fees paid to the court.
There is a reason why this is more expensive than the general market rate: because the total debt was large and there were many creditors, it became a 'trustee case' that required a strict investigation. However, life changes significantly depending on whether you view this as 'just a painful expense' or as the 'ultimate cut-loss to free yourself from being a slave to interest for the next few decades and buy back your future self.' Considering the hell of paying 150,000 yen every month for 13 years until full repayment, with 13 million yen just in interest, 900,000 yen is the best self-investment.
■ Behind the Scenes and My Current Real State of Mind
When I was writing the script for this video, seeing the numbers on the final invoice from the law firm brought up a lot of emotions, honestly. The trembling of my hands as I transferred the final 170,000 yen I had saved up little by little each month, and the sense of relief that the legal payments were finally all over. I really wanted to capture that in the dialogue between the AI avatars, so I was very particular about the raw intensity of the lines.

I have no intention of letting this failure, which I learned at a high tuition cost, just become a thing of the past.
I have now stepped up to work as a trailer driver at a new workplace, and I am firmly establishing the foundation of my income on the front lines. In parallel, I am studying to become a Financial Planner as a defensive measure to ensure I never make the same mistake again. I don't hold the qualification yet, but having correct knowledge of finance and taxes is the strongest shield to protect yourself.
And I am going all-in on investing the money I earn from my main job into building a work environment that enhances my own business value, such as through this YouTube channel and my posts on note. I will continue to share in real-time the process of someone who has hit rock bottom clawing their way back up.

If there is anyone out there suffering alone with debt and feeling like they want to die, I want you to watch this video first and have the courage to play the legal card of consulting with a professional. I have also written the detailed breakdown, my household budget, and the full record until the discharge was granted in my 'Bankruptcy Magazine' on note, so if you are serious about restarting your life, please check that out as well.
Let's climb out of this together!
