[High-Rise Living] 7 Things I Only Realized After Living on a High Floor
Hello, this is Chisato.
What is it actually like to live on a high floor of a high-rise apartment?
Beautiful night views, fewer bugs...
I had those images in mind, but once I actually started living here, I realized there were many things I only noticed after moving in.
This time, I will summarize what I felt from my actual experience living here.
1. The "Reality Inside the Room" That Was Different From What I Imagined
【The Problem of Unexpectedly Having Bugs】
I had assumed that "bugs don't come to high floors," so when I saw them normally, I was like, "That's a lie!"
Do they ride the wind, or do they ride the elevator with us? The mystery only deepens (lol).

【Radio waves are hard to connect, making phone calls and working from home a bit difficult】
Perhaps because we are far from the ground, smartphone reception is surprisingly unstable.
There are times when I panic because phone calls cut in and out, or I find the internet is slow while working remotely.
2. "Outing Realities" Because the Ground is Far Away
【Elevator wait times are surprisingly not a problem!】
Perhaps because the elevators for high floors and low floors are separated, I had prepared myself to roll my eyes at the thought of "a huge traffic jam every morning," but I can ride them quite smoothly without any stress.
This was a pleasant miscalculation.
【I really can't tell the "intensity of the rain" on rainy days】

When I look outside from the window, I can tell that "Oh, it's raining," but because we are so high up, I can't grasp at all "how hard it is raining."
I can somehow tell that people are holding umbrellas, but...
Until I go down outside, I can't decide whether I can get by with just an umbrella or if I should go fully equipped with a rain cover for the stroller, which can be a bit troublesome.
3. Common spaces and the "people" who live here
【When you have children, you surprisingly don't use the common spaces】
Before buying, I thought, "I'll definitely use the stylish lounge and fitness center to the fullest!" but in the daily life of chasing after a 2-year-old and a 0-year-old, the reality is that I surprisingly don't have the leeway to go out of my way to spend time there (lol).
But, everyone who lives here is surprisingly kind.
The people I pass by or ride the elevator with are all surprisingly kind, which is a relief. Even during the hectic times when I'm moving around with my children, my heart is always warmed by the kindness of those around me.
4. The rewards of being on a high floor, and the trash problem
The trash disposal area on each floor is so convenient, I can't go back
There is no need to carry heavy trash bags in both hands and make a long trek to the elevator below.
The feature of being able to quickly take trash to the disposal area on my own floor 24 hours a day is a savior that truly makes me want to cry while raising children.
And above all, the view from the window is the best reward.
I've talked about various realistic aspects, but the view from a high floor is truly beautiful, and I am incredibly healed by it every day. The morning blue sky, the beautiful sunset, the sparkling night view. Watching the sky change its expression every day makes me feel like "I'm decorating my home with a different painting every day."
In the midst of busy days, this time spent catching my breath while looking out the window is the moment I feel truly glad I bought this home.

Finally
Now that I actually live here, I feel that life spent with my beloved family is happy, including both the inconveniences and the conveniences.
Tower mansions are not for everyone.
I am satisfied after actually living here, but I felt there are truly many things you only realize once you move in.
I hope this will be helpful for those considering it.
Well then, see you in the next update!
