When I stopped saying 'I'm fine as I am,' something changed
My day starts at 6:30 AM.
I've tried challenging myself to wake up at 5:30 AM before and actually put it into practice, but it was too dark in the winter and I couldn't focus, so I went back to my old routine. Haha.
Even so, the idea of myself doing morning activities is something I couldn't have imagined a few years ago.
Living life somewhat out of inertia
When I was a company employee, I used to wake up according to my work schedule.
I can wake up when I need to.
But I had never woken up for my own sake.
Stories about people who wake up early and achieve their goals would always reach me, of course.
I admired them, but it would always end with 'Wow, that's amazing,' and it always felt like someone else's business.
It was common for me to stay up late the night before a day off and sleep until noon the next day. 😞
Well, I was somewhat happy, and I feel like my days just drifted by while I thought,'I'm fine as I am anyway.'
I found someone I liked, and it gave me motivation. Haha.
Around the time I was gradually getting fed up with my unchanging daily life.
During that period, I went on a trip with my mom, hung out with friends, and happened to meet someone I liked.
It's a bit embarrassing, but my motivation switch is always turned on by meeting a 'good guy.' 😂
Doesn't motivation come from things like that? Haha.
It was a coincidence, but I really think you shine when you're doing what you love.
I had always admired morning activities, so I thought I'd try doing them a little bit to get closer to my ideal self.
With that lighthearted feeling, I started morning activities.
Before I knew it, morning became my favorite time
When I kept it up every day, a colleague lent me a book on morning routines. It had things written about meditation and affirmations, so I gave them a try.
Before I knew it, the morning had become my favorite time of the day.
I went from waking up out of inertia to waking up for my own sake.
The time I spent thinking about myself increased, and I feel like I gradually started to see what was important and what wasn't.
At the end of that year, I was able to say, 'I'm quitting.'
I was also able to properly communicate my own wishes.
Here is the story of how I decided to set my life in motion.
It's not as simple as saying I was able to quit my job because I started morning activities.
However, starting to use the first part of my day for myself was the beginning.
