Linguistic Thinking and Visual Thinking
I decided to think a little more about linguistic thinking and visual thinking. Roughly speaking, when you think linguistically, the right brain is at work, and when you think visually, the left brain mainly functions. I think it's quite common to hear that artistic people think with their left brain. Although I am not good at humanities subjects, I feel that my linguistic thinking is stronger.
There is a test to see if you are a visual thinker, so why not try it if you are interested? My linguistic thinking was only slightly stronger than half. As for what the differences are, linguistic thinking is better at processing abstract concepts, logic, and causal relationships, while visual thinking is better at space, details, and the big picture. It is true that I might be bad at details.
To put it very broadly, it is a contrast between abstract thinking and concrete thinking. It is true that abstract thinking might be more comfortable. Developing your strengths is one approach, but I think it is also important to compensate for your weaknesses. One of the purposes of writing notes is to improve my ability to write concretely. If I am not careful, I tend to abstract things immediately, so I have to be cautious.
It is often said that it is good to go back and forth between the concrete and the abstract. By doing so, you can increase the resolution of your knowledge. It is not good to stay in the abstract realm all the time; you must occasionally bring it down to concrete thinking using the left brain. I have been making four-panel illustrations for the articles I write recently, and I think it is just right as training for concrete thinking.
Let's answer the following items of the "Visual-Spatial Thinking Assessment Test" with "Yes" or "No".
Linguistic Thinking and Visual Thinking
It is fine to make four-panel comics because it is fun, but I hope that having the meaning of 'thinking training' will give me some motivation. Surely, if there is no reason, I might quit eventually. It is difficult to continue just because it is fun, isn't it?
Converting a single episode from text to an image has the effect of changing how you see things, so I can expect it to improve my memory as well. When I asked an AI, it said it was high-density encoding of concepts through four-panelization. Humans cannot remember things like AI, but the expression is cool.
Also, it seems good to add hashtags that express the content when posting four-panel comics. By incubating meanings and emotions that cannot be fully expressed in images, it becomes easier to recall the image. In that sense, posting with hashtags seems to have a rational meaning. In the case of note, I am just selecting suggestions appropriately, though.
It is important to apply the accumulated information to other things in that way. By citing what I wrote before or the notes of others, I make use of what I have produced. I think what I am doing is not much different from AI, but I want to solve problems that AI cannot handle.
