Lyric Leap.
Hi, welcome. Thank you for coming again today.
Once I decide to do something, I act immediately.
When I'm doing this and that, I run out of hands.
I want to do that, but I can't do this.
These days, I feel like I need to organize things a bit better.
The act of "writing".
A "monster" dwells in note.
Every day, many people knock on its gate.
Those whose dreams end halfway through.
Those who lose sight of their goals and leave.
Those who collapse in front of the gate (that's too soon...💧).
Even among such a motley crowd, there are those who survive, keep writing, and radiate a unique presence.
note is carved out by "writing".
And by "reading," the scope of "writing" also expands.
"A good reader is better than a good writer."
I don't know if such a saying exists, but in my experience, I have the impression that many creators read many people's articles, absorb them, and broaden their own horizons.
・Words created by oneself
・Words created by gaining from others
The latter involves "knowing," "understanding," "thinking," and "worrying."
And then moving on to the process of "writing."
There are those with the extraordinary ability to just dash things off, but basically, people worry.
There are even extreme people whose words seem like they were squeezed out after worrying and worrying.
Even though they are just flat strings of characters, they are heavy.
Thoughts are carried on those heavy words.
Focus.
This time, it's definitely one of the "monsters."
A writing teacher.
Mr. Y is a man I met on note.
He has been involved with note from long before I started.
A veteran of great ability who I feel is safe to call a "literary master."
I wonder when it was; I have a memory of knowing him from a relatively early stage after I started in June 2023.
Although he is a teacher I am very familiar with now, I remember that when I was a newcomer, I had the impression that he was someone "above the clouds," and I recall interacting with him from a distance, peeking at him from afar.
He writes "every day."
After all, he is someone who has been posting for about four years. The amount of information is vast, almost too much.
It would be boring to cram too much into this short story.
He is nonchalant and elusive. Or rather, that is unconscious. He appears humble and is truly humble.
"The reason it continues is simply because I keep doing it."
His stoic attitude toward words can be gleaned from the words he releases every day.
A single email.
Among the many anecdotes, which one should I tell to convey who Mr. Y is?
If I am going to take the trouble to publish it in an article, I want to choose the most profound parts. Words thought out seriously possess a magical power and do not fade even as years pass.
Among the things I am looking at, there are some that are particularly impressive.
This is a story from nearly 20 years ago. Mr. Y suddenly became interested in a book he saw at a bookstore.
He read it through while standing, put it back, and then decided to buy it after all. It is rare for him to be curious about a book he has already read once and then buy it to take home.
"We are looking for your famous quote episodes."
The project and email address written at the end of the book. It served as a gateway to register for a newsletter, and Mr. Y, full of momentum, signed up. The newsletter arrived every day, but he didn't read it. He read them all at once when he had forgotten about them.
The author was a famous person and someone who would greatly change Mr. Y's life. I have only excerpted a part of it here, but it is an immersive story.
Mr. Y had a "realization" about that author.
"Is the romance part weak?"
People have strengths and weaknesses, and even a famous author is no exception.
Let's try submitting to the "famous quote episodes" mentioned in the book earlier in the romance category. The approach of intentionally poking at the other person's weak points is a learning experience.
It was quite a long time ago, but when I think about how Mr. Y has been thorough about both "reading" and "writing" since around this time, I am reminded of the difference in our years of experience...
One email became a turning point.
A thousand arrows.
"Who sent this to me?"
The author was interested in "love quote episodes."
However, the email was left ignored, leading to a situation where it was asked about in a newsletter.
The habit of not checking PC emails regularly backfired... When I checked, an email from the person themselves had also arrived.
Through this connection, they were invited to a party for gold medal winners of books held in Tokyo, and Mr. Y and the author began to get closer rapidly.
For me to talk about the episodes of this day would be "a buzzkill."
It was a very fun story to read, so I want you to read the original work.
The next day, Mr. Y would be asked by the author over the phone.
"Can't you write more about love theory?"
"Oh, of course, of course!"
Actually, it wasn't planned to turn out like this. But each and every accumulation from the gold medal winner party the day before developed into this coincidence. It's just like a story.
"A young man who is nobody, a famous author"
A few weeks later, Mr. Y sends love episodes via email.
The number of them, lined up in bullet points, was "a thousand."
For the author, it must have been astonishing; a volume far exceeding imagination. A level of passion more than enough to sense the other person's seriousness.
"This man is seriously seeking a connection with me"
In the latest work, Mr. Y's name also appears on the cover, leading to a development where he is introduced inside.
In the original article, it was written "how he was able to do that."
What is intended also applies to text.
Whether it's face-to-face or a book, what's on the other side is a person. What is it that that person seeks?
A valuable experience story where you can catch a glimpse of one aspect of Mr. Y's "writing."
Lyric Leap.
"I wonder what Mr. Y actually does..."
He posts articles every day and is involved in other activities as well.
I sometimes imagine things that couldn't possibly be true, like whether he's living as a recluse deep in the forest.
That's probably not it... or is it?
He usually works at an educational institution. He gives lectures, corrects entrance exam essays, and provides mental coaching for students.
Writing is about creating yourself.
In the online salon he hosts, he writes with the awareness that "someone is reading this."
He writes with the feeling that "hospitality toward the reader is important."
Publishing columns on improving writing skills.
Individually correcting the writing of salon members.
Dialogue events.
Various other projects.
Improving circles of people, ways of thinking, and lives through "writing."
He makes writing his reason for living, and he cannot help but feel pleasure even when his ideas run dry, as it stimulates a new thirst for knowledge.
He is a genuine eccentric.
Oops, that's something he said himself, and it's the highest compliment.
It would be boring if he only did things that were safe and predictable.
He never stops challenging himself; if things go well, he pushes forward, and if they don't, he just retreats.
Everything is based on "words."
I'm sure Mr. Y is plotting something new again today.
From here on out.
"If you are liked by just one person, you can say you are popular."
It is also impressive that he holds such a strong personal theory.
It is a way of thinking that resembles a "conviction," and the axis he believes in never wavers.
His encounter with the author mentioned earlier, and the connections he has made.
The fact that he was able to realize these things because he didn't waver is a accumulation of his self-confidence.
To waver would be to carry a weight similar to betraying the people he has met.
His heavy words are filled with his thoughts.
That is probably why he can remain his one-and-only self.
Mr. Y is a dear friend of mine.
I will always be rooting for you.
I hope you encounter a "writing" style that is so passionate and filled with conviction that it makes you mad with jealousy.
