Hello everyone! This is Kurono Ichigo😊
Today, I'm going to talk about stepping into my own personal 'sanctuary.'
However, the starting point wasn't some glamorous place like a successful entrepreneur's office.
It was a dark place of 'being scammed, losing all my assets, and falling into debt.' Well, people generally like watching others' failure stories, right?😇 Oh, but I've written about the rock-bottom part in other articles, so this is a story you can read with a flat perspective😳
Today, I will look back on the trajectory I've walked on this note,
along with my past 'thumbnails' and the origin of this name.
1. The Beginning of the Name 'Kurono Ichigo'
This name originally started when I created a pen name on 'Shousetsuka ni Narou' (Let's Become a Novelist) because I wanted to write the prototype for my novel, 'Psychedelos Saga'.
But what I started there wasn't writing novels, but
running a 'curation site'.
My salary as a full-time employee and the revenue from the curation site.
With double the income, I saved a decent amount of money for a few years.
……However, as I mentioned in a previous article, I was scammed after that, lost everything, and ended up in debt.
2. The Frustrated YouTube Era and the Birth of the 'Icon'
I had fallen to rock bottom, but I had an overconfidence that 'I have the power to earn.' So, the next thing I tried was YouTube.
I liked making videos themselves.
But it took 8 hours to seriously make one video,
and 2 hours just to add subtitles to a 3-minute video.
With the time commitment being far longer than in my curation site days, and the timing being late, I gave up.
However, there is one thing that remained from this YouTube era.
That is the 'Kurono Ichigo' icon.
The top row is the icon from the YouTube era; I didn't just use the icon, I even animated this character, made it lip-sync, and added my own voice.
While keeping the prototype of the icon from that time, I brushed it up with the power of AI to reach its current form.
This face is a symbol of my frustration and comeback.
3. Transition of Thumbnails: From Screams to 'Soul'
Look at the early thumbnails from when I gave up on YouTube and arrived at note.
Without any design knowledge, they are just things that look like the screams of 'I want to escape from my current suffering' taking shape.
In the middle period, as my followers gradually increased and I began to establish my current style of 'pouring my own brain' into things with AI as my partner, the thumbnails also started to have a 'face' little by little.
And here is my current thumbnail.
The 'anxiety' of the past has turned into a 'question' for the reader.
I take pride in the name 'Kurono Ichigo'—a name that is hard to type but one-of-a-kind—and it is proof that my heart has shifted from the 'fear of debt' to the 'joy of sharing.'
Putting Soul into Kurono Ichigo
A thumbnail is not just a 'cover for an article.'
It is a mirror reflecting how seriously I was facing my readers at that time.
The me who was trembling in debt.
The me whose eyes were bloodshot from video editing.
The me who is now surrounded by 1,700 companions.
The soul I am using is the same.
If you are in despair right now, please look at my history and laugh.
Think, 'If a guy who took such a long, ragged detour can do it, then in 100 days, the scenery can change.'
You can redraw the thumbnail of your life at any time✒️
In closing
How was my journey from dark history to the birth of my icon?
I believe that because I have walked while drinking mud, there are things I can convey.
