[Taught by a Hair Professional] Foods to Grow Beautiful Hair and the Correct Shampoo Method | 5 Basic Steps
Welcome to the Hair Research Laboratory.
📚 Today's lecture theme is about "food" to grow beautiful hair and specific hair care methods.
Konatsu: "First, I made 'meat tofu' as a dish to grow beautiful hair."

Student: "It looks delicious!"
Konatsu looks happy that the student said it looks delicious.
Konatsu: "I will explain how the ingredients are good for your hair.
I used pork this time. Pork contains animal protein. That protein produces keratin, which is the main component of hair.
Next, I will move on to explaining deep-fried tofu.
Tofu contains soy isoflavones.
Have you ever heard of soy isoflavones?"
Student: "Yes, I have. I know it's also used in cosmetics."
Konatsu: "That's right. I have also used lotion containing soy isoflavones.
Those soy isoflavones are said to prevent thinning hair and gray hair because they act similarly to female hormones (estrogen).
Now, next is komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach). Komatsuna is rich in iron.
Iron deficiency affects gray hair, hair loss, and dry hair.
Student: "Oh, I see."
The students nod and take notes as if they just learned this for the first time.
Konatsu: "Meat tofu is a quick dish that can be made immediately, so please try making it yourselves."
I will provide the recipe at the end of this lecture.
Konatsu: "Next, in the previous lecture, we uncovered the causes of everyone's hair problems, but then I received many requests asking, 'So, what kind of hair care should I do?'
There are many types of hair care, but in this lecture, I will teach you just one."
Student: "Please do."
Konatsu grins at the honest students.
Konatsu: "First, I will teach you from the basics. It is about the correct way to shampoo."
There are people who don't know the basic steps before shampooing, and some who do it their own way and end up negatively affecting their scalp.
The first step is brushing while the hair is dry..
Untangling the hair helps prevent hair loss, and lifting sebum and dust improves the lather of the shampoo.
The second step is pre-washing with lukewarm water for 1 to 2 minutes. You can remove 70-80% of the dirt at this stage.
Is there anyone here who wets their hair for a few seconds and then immediately shampoos?"
Student A: "I wasn't pre-washing for 2 minutes."
Student B: "I wasn't brushing my hair at all to begin with."
The students reflect on how they were never taught the correct way to shampoo at school during their childhood.
Konatsu: "I think you all have things to reflect on. The third step is,
Lather the shampoo before applying it to your scalp. Some people dispense shampoo from the bottle and apply it directly to their hair.
Trying to lather it on your hair without foaming it up first causes friction that damages the cuticles, leading to dryness and split ends, so it is important to lather it first."
The fourth step is,Rinse thoroughly. Make sure to do it for at least 2 minutes.
Be careful, as people often fail to rinse behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.
Shampoo residue can cause itching, dandruff, and gray hair.
Finally, the fifth step is,Only use the towel to absorb moisture when towel-drying.
Many of you were already doing this.
Just patting it gently is enough."
Student C: "I usually play games at night, fall asleep, and then wash my hair in the morning before coming to school, but I can't really shampoo that carefully in the morning..."
Konatsu: "Shampooing in the morning is full of bad things for your hair.
First of all, it worsens the scalp environment.
Sweat, sebum, dust, and pollen clog the pores and weaken the function of melanocytes (the cells that create black hair)."
Sleep is the golden time when hair growth hormones are secreted. If your pores are clogged with dirt, you're wasting a precious opportunity for repair.
Also, you strip away the scalp's barrier, leaving it completely exposed to the effects of UV rays, and if your hair is left damp, it becomes a breeding ground for moisture and germs."
Student C: "That's the worst."
Student D: "I was part of the 'bath-canceling' crowd, but I'll start taking baths from today."
It seems the students who learned from this lecture each had their own thoughts.
*The 'bath-canceling' crowd refers to people who find bathing troublesome and intentionally avoid taking baths or showers
Konatsu: "That's all for today's lecture. Thank you all for listening so well.
Finally, I've prepared a meat tofu recipe for the end, so please take a recipe sheet if you need one."
