The Exhibition of One Color: The Color of a Gentle Gaze, Greenish Yellow - Episode 815, April 18th
"Now, what color would suit this place?" I am a curator at a small art museum. I am standing in front of the special exhibition room. However, since I am still a newcomer and an apprentice, most of my work consists of odd jobs. Ahead of the next special exhibition, the decision was made to choose the wall color to match the theme, and this time, all the curators at the museum were asked to make a proposal. The director will decide which one to choose from among them.
I couldn't think of anything while in the special exhibition room, so I stepped out of the museum building for a change of pace. It was just around the time the sun was beginning to set. The sky was turning from blue to a yellowish hue. "It's almost evening. Sigh, I have to decide on a color by tomorrow morning."
I watched the scenery for a while, and at that moment, I instinctively shouted in my heart, "That color!" I was struck by the current color of this landscape, which was yellow but mixed with a slightly different shade. "This color, this is the one. This color of a gentle gaze. Yes, this will suit the special exhibition. I'm sure of it."
I took a picture of the scenery in front of me with my smartphone right then and there. When I checked it, the color was clearly captured in the image as well.
After finishing my work at the museum that day, I went to an art supply store near the station. I started looking for a color close to the one I had captured. "Let's see," I paced back and forth in front of the paints several times. No matter how many times I looked, I couldn't tell which one was closest.
"We are closing soon," came the announcement. I panicked as the store's closing music began to play. "Oh, is this it?" The color I finally got my hands on was "Greenish Yellow."
At the meeting the next day, the curators took turns proposing their colors. They say there are as many minds as there are people, and everyone proposed their own color. "Good. So far, there are no overlaps." I gave a silent fist pump in my heart before my turn. Then, I stood up and proposed "Greenish Yellow."
Once everyone had proposed their colors, the director asked the curators for the reasons behind their choices. The senior curators all began to explain the relevance to the special exhibition theoretically. But since I couldn't do that, I honestly said, "I decided based on intuition." Because that was the truth. After everyone had finished speaking, the director, who had been nodding quietly until then, stood up and said this.
"Regarding the color for this special exhibition, I think the Greenish Yellow from our newcomer, who chose it based on sensibility rather than theory, is good. The 'gentle gaze' also fits this special exhibition." Thus, my proposal was brilliantly adopted for the special exhibition. It goes without saying that the look the director gave me afterward felt as gentle as greenish yellow.

I participated in this project. (1000 characters in the main text)
