Insert song written for the drama: The story of how 'The Day You Were Born' came to be

This time, I've written an article that includes the story of Yu Sato, who wrote the lyrics and music for the insert song for the metaverse drama 'Crossroad,' which I am directing and writing.

When you are creating a work, you really have all sorts of encounters.

Encounters with cast members.
Encounters with staff.

And encounters with the creators who support the work.

Crossroad has also taken shape little by little through such encounters.

The song I am introducing this time, 'The Day You Were Born', is also a song born from one of those encounters.

This song was written specifically for the drama and is used in a very important scene in the story.

I would like to write about how this song came to be, including some behind-the-scenes stories.

A turning point scene in the drama

When you are making a drama, there are moments when you think,
'This song is the only one for this scene.'

The metaverse drama 'Crossroad' also has such a song.

The scene where Shinji tells his sister Rumi

This song was created for the drama.

Actually, this song is not an existing track.

It is a new song written specifically for Crossroads.

I originally met Yu Sato, who wrote the lyrics and music, onstand.fm.

We have been in contact for a long time since then.

Actually, at first,we were planning to use a different song as an insert song.

However, during the production process, it became difficult to use that song,

and I was thinking, 'Well, what should I do now...?'

To be honest, I was a little hesitant at the time.

That is because, in terms of the drama's production schedule,
there was almost no time left before the deadline.

Songwriting is, by nature, a very difficult task.

Melody,
lyrics,
composition,
arrangement,
recording vocals,

there are many steps
to complete a single song.

Normally, this would take quite a long time.
That's why I was wondering, 'Will we really make it in time?'

However.

Yu-sancompleted the song with astonishing speed.

The production process is also
touched upon in Yu-san's article.

Moreover, the finished song wasn't just done quickly.

It was the perfect song for a drama insert.

It was a track that naturally blended into that scene,
as if Shinji's feelings were layered over it.

Honestly, all I could say was, 'Wow!!'

I am simply amazed
by Yu-san's songwriting skills.

That is precisely why I cannot call this a hobby

Since you have provided
such a wonderful song,

I have absolutely no intention of makingCrossroads a 'hobby project.'

Of course, the production is an individual-based project.
But as a work,I am seriously aiming to develop it into an IP.

We are developing the work
using these two formats.

That is the result.

honestly, I don't know yet.

However, if this data continues to grow in the same way...

it might become something quite interesting.

The channel has only been going for two and a half months.

That is precisely why I am looking forward to seeing
how it develops from here.
