I went to the Ecole de Paris Exhibition
I suddenly felt like a change of pace, so I went to the Sanno Art Museum in Kyobashi, Osaka.
I went to see the "Ecole de Paris Exhibition."

The admission fee was an affordable 1,300 yen, and I decided to go because there were also permanent exhibitions on the 3rd and 5th floors.

If you use the JR Kyobashi Station, you can see it on the opposite bank of the river as soon as you exit from the South Exit.
However, I didn't know that and exited from the North Exit where most people go, so I got lost because I didn't know the direction. Well, thanks to that, I was able to have a delicious lunch.

The place I finally found has the river and buildings typical of Osaka.
The contrast with the downtown shopping street I was at earlier is quite a sight.
The cherry blossoms along the river seem to have started blooming, and there were a few people pointing their cameras to take pictures.

Perhaps because it was lunchtime on a weekday, there were only a few visitors.
I was able to view the exhibition slowly and without hesitation.

My goal was Marie Laurencin.
It was displayed right after entering the venue.
There were only a few pieces, but each one was very distinctive, so I went back and forth, getting closer and moving away to look at them again and again.
They had an indescribable charm that reminded me of ukiyo-e, appearing light yet conveying a strong message.
On my way home, I bought three postcards.

There were other permanent exhibitions, so I decided to look at them in order.
There, I found works by Kaii Higashiyama and Yuzo Saeki, whom I like.

What caught my eye the most was Yuzo Saeki.
It is the complete opposite of Marie Laurencin's light, dashi-like Japanese style; it has the rich, heavy feel of French cuisine.
He depicts the streets of Paris, but his works have such intensity that it feels as if multiple spaces are layered within a single painting.
I bought a postcard of this one too.

There are many other works as well, so I think it is worth a visit.

It was a nice change of pace.
Thank you for reading.
I would appreciate it if you could like and follow.
I look forward to your continued support.
