Today, I'd like to share what I've learned about a technique called 'Attention Prompting' that might just solve those problems.

Even when I give instructions to the AI, it doesn't seem to listen.
The AI doesn't follow the output format, making it a pain to organize.
I want the AI to pay attention to a specific part, but I can't get it across well.
Honestly, I fall into all of these categories (lol). Especially when writing a novel, even if I ask it to 'increase the variety of sentence endings,' the expressions remain stiff for some reason.
But with this 'Attention Prompting' technique, these problems might be solvable!
What is an Attention Prompt?
Attention Prompting means 'weighting your prompts.'
In short, it is [Emphasis]. Even in human conversation, you convey important points through the volume of your voice or your facial expressions. Attention Prompting is the way to do that in your dialogue with AI.
By using this, you can control the priority of the AI's tasks more accurately and make it easier to get the results you want. Isn't that amazing?

So, how do you actually use it? Three methods are introduced.

Also, it seems special care is needed for creative work.It is said that using Attention Prompts for instructions involving specificity, such as scenario formatting or novel style specifications, is effective.
For example, things like 'Please write this novel from a first-person perspective' or 'Always include narrative text after dialogue.' When you use Attention Prompts for these instructions, the AI follows that format more reliably.
However, it might not be very effective for abstract instructions like 'Write with moving expressions.' It seems that the more concrete you are, the easier it is for the AI to understand.
Here too, the same tips as in human communication come into play. Be concrete, but don't be pushy. That kind of balance might be important.
