Live to be appreciated by someone!! |Life| Sales|Salesperson|Work|Mental|Purpose in life|
What is truly important in life?
Is it money? Is it status? Is it honor?
Of course, those are also important for living.
Life becomes difficult without money, it feels good to be evaluated, and getting a promotion increases your options.
But what remains at the end of life might actually be something a little different.
It is the memory of being thanked by someone.
This is certainly not just a platitude.
People, surprisingly, do not forget the moments they were useful to someone more than how much they earned.
In fact, that stays in the heart much longer.
Without realizing it, we live our lives worrying only about how we are perceived.
I don't want to be disliked. I don't want to fail. I don't want to lose out. I want to be evaluated. I want to be recognized.
Everyone is like that.
But if you live only from this perspective, it becomes truly painful.
Because the subject of your life is always 'yourself'.
Me. Me. Me. Always me.
That is why it is painful and unfulfilling.
On the other hand, people who are appreciated are a little different.
They are looking at the other person's life.
Is the person in front of me in trouble? How can I make things easier for them? How can I make them happy? How can I help them be positive?
The subject is not oneself, but the other person.
There is something interesting.
People who are appreciated are not seeking appreciation.
If you make being appreciated your goal, that in itself is painful.
It leads to thoughts like, 'I did so much for you,' 'Why don't you understand?' or 'You didn't return the favor.'
That is a transaction. It is not appreciation.
People who are truly appreciated do not expect anything in return.
They just help the person in front of them. They just act for the other person. They just show a little kindness.
It is the accumulation of those things.
Then, strangely enough, appreciation comes back later.
Life is surprisingly similar to a game where what you give comes back to you.
Smiles return to those who give smiles.
Peace of mind returns to those who give peace of mind.
Trust returns to those who give trust.
It might take time, but it will return.
It definitely will.
I understand this well from doing sales.
People who try to sell cannot sell. People who try to help can sell.
People who want to close a contract are treated with caution. People who want to solve problems are trusted.
Life is the same.
People who only look at their own interests will have people leave them. People who think about the happiness of others will have people gather around them.
A life that is appreciated does not require doing anything special.
You don't have to change the world. You don't have to start a business. You don't have to be famous. You don't have to be a millionaire.
It can be smaller things.
Listening properly to your family. Saying thank you to a shop clerk. Protecting your subordinates. Teaching experience to juniors. Reaching out to someone in trouble. Replying quickly. Keeping promises.
It is really small things like that.
People remember small daily kindnesses more than big favors that change their lives.
Memories like, 'You reached out to me then,' 'You believed in me then,' 'You helped me then,' 'You listened to me then.'
That is the kind of memory.
And actually, there is one more big advantage to a life that is appreciated.
You yourself become happy.
Because people feel their own value when they are useful to someone.
No matter how much money or status you have, if you think you are not useful to anyone, you will feel empty.
Conversely, even in a difficult situation, being told 'thank you' saves you.
People feel the meaning of life by being appreciated.
That is why I think.
The goal of life is not just to succeed.
To be appreciated by someone.
I think this is also a wonderful goal.
Increasing your annual income is wonderful. Getting a promotion is wonderful. Making your dreams come true is wonderful.
But in that process, how many people were you able to make smile? How many people were you able to help?
How many people were able to think, 'I'm glad you were there'?
I feel this is much more valuable.
Life is surprisingly short.
It feels like I was a child until yesterday, but before I knew it, I became an adult. Before I knew it, I was getting older.
That is precisely why I want to live by supporting someone rather than kicking someone down.
I want to save someone rather than hurt someone.
I want to be appreciated by someone rather than be resented by someone.
That is what I think.
Lastly, there is a way to change your life starting today.
It is to think about 'What can I give to whom' rather than 'What will I get'.
Just that. But just by doing that, the scenery of your life will change.
It will change in a mysterious way.
Live to be appreciated by someone.
I believe that the accumulation of that will surely become a life where, when you look back at the end, you can think, 'Ah, it was a good life.'.
