I think I just don't want to forget the days I've spent.
I sometimes wonder why I take photos.
I sometimes wonder why I love photography.
And then, I suddenly find myself looking back at the photos I've taken.

I think I just don't want to forget the days I've spent.
It feels a bit sad when I think, 'What was I doing yesterday?'
What was I doing at this time last year?
Wait, who did I go with?
I feel sad about those experiences that everyone has.
I've heard it somewhere before.
Something like, humans protect themselves by forgetting.
It's better to forget painful things.
There are things I want to forget, too.
Because if I forget them, they no longer exist in my world.
They may have happened in the world, but they cease to exist in my own world.
But sometimes, I feel like I don't want to forget even those painful things.
Like being dumped by someone I loved,
or having a hard time because work wasn't going well.
Because those days are proof that I am alive.
I think the reason I can feel that I am still alive now
is, in no small part, because I have a past.
That's why I want to capture those days in photos.
Even if I don't go on a trip somewhere, even if nothing special happens,
I want to preserve this day.
That's surely why I take photos,
and why I love photography as a tool that can preserve time.

For those living days they don't want to forget,
and for those living days they want to forget,
I want to take photos that make them feel it's a blessing that those moments remain.
