[SumaSpa] SumaSpa PRO is back!
Last July, the three of us—Pirika-san, Odango-san, and I, Kosshi—talked about nursing care on [SumaSpa PRO].
So many people listened to it, and we received a lot of feedback.
#ThankYouSoMuch
That SumaSpa PRO has returned, powered up with a powerful new member joining the team!!
The person who has become our new teammate is this person!!
Kuma-san!!
This time, we talked about dementia with a group of four: Kuma-san, who has a wealth of experience and knowledge as an occupational therapist; our returning members Pirika-san (who is planning to get certified as a financial planner and dementia advisor! Amazing!); Odango-san (a certified care manager); and Kosshi (a curly-haired manager).
From important discussions about money to the symptoms of dementia and stories about the users we have interacted with in the past, we spoke seriously from our respective perspectives.
The 'Dementia Advisor' certification that Pirika-san is aiming for is a qualification for people who provide advice aimed at spreading correct knowledge about dementia and its prevention, as well as suppressing the onset and slowing the progression of the condition.
It is thought that not only those involved in medical and nursing care, but also those working in insurance-related fields like Pirika-san, can provide accurate advice on money-related matters such as asset management by obtaining this certification.
By listening to the opinions of such experts and accurately understanding support systems like those provided by the government and the long-term care insurance system, the monthly costs you pay may change significantly. I believe this can help reduce your burden.
After all, it is very heartbreaking for those who have been working hard to care for their family members to pay extra costs due to a lack of knowledge. I hope you will consult with someone first.
Dementia is a painful and difficult disease, but I would be happy if you could know that it is not just that.
It goes without saying, but everyone's symptoms and conditions are different. If there is an environment suitable for that person and understanding from those around them, both the caregiver and the person being cared for can actually spend their time quite happily.
Don't be afraid just because someone has developed dementia or is suspected of having it; I think it's best to first get a medical examination, consult with people around you, and decide how that person, including their family, will live their life.
Finally, I would like to introduce some articles written in the past by our guests this time, Odango-san and Kuma-san, regarding people with dementia.
These are articles that I absolutely love. I am sure they will give you courage and energy. Please be sure to read them.
◾️Odango-san: 'A story about overcoming dislike by cherishing the dislike' / A wonderful story about facing a user with dementia whom she disliked and overcoming that dislike.
◾️Kuma-san: 'A place where words are not needed' / A heartwarming story of communication between a user with aphasia and a user with dementia.
◾️Kuma-san: 'Not forgetting oneself' / How one should interact with people with dementia; Kuma-san's user teaches us something important.
◾️A co-production by Bakuzen-san and Odango-san: 'At Arere Mart Today Too' / A heartwarming story where Katsuko-san, who has started showing signs of dementia, is warmly welcomed by her family and the staff at Arere Mart.
I would be truly happy if this broadcast could be a trigger for you to take an interest in dementia. Please listen to it.
Every Saturday (sometimes Wednesday) is SumaSpa day. We will talk to your ears again.
Well then.
This was Kosshi, who gets the most nervous during SumaSpa PRO recordings!
