[Administrative Scrivener Opening Preparation] Introduction to Office Appliances
As I prepare to open my practice as an administrative scrivener (currently unregistered), I will review the appliances (OA equipment, home appliances, etc.) that I purchased or already owned for my office. I will honestly share my reasons for choosing them and how they feel to use, so I hope this will be helpful for those who are about to open their own practice.
1. PC (OMEN Transcend 14)

Price 251,622 yen *Includes extended warranty fee (HP official website)
Reason for purchase
When I was looking for a 'computer that allows me to work properly even when I'm out' for opening my administrative scrivener office, I found the OMEN Transcend 14.
Although it is a gaming laptop, the deciding factors were its lightweight, stylish design that can withstand business use with many creator-oriented elements, and its high-spec processing power. In addition to the PC itself, headphones and a mouse are included.
Spec overview
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
Memory: 16GB (32GB model available)
Storage: 1TB SSD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
Display: 14-inch OLED (2.8K) 120Hz
Weight: Approx. 1.63kg
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Usage experience
◎ Design/Portability
It is so slim and elegant that you wouldn't think it's a gaming PC. The logo is also understated, so it doesn't look out of place when opened in an office or cafe. It weighs in the 1.6kg range, but it is well within the acceptable range for carrying in a backpack.
◎ Performance
The operation is very smooth even when multiple applications are launched. Creative work such as Photoshop and Lightroom is also comfortable. It handles office work, video editing, and light 3D work with ease.
◎ Display
The beauty of the organic EL display is overwhelming. The sharpness of the text and the depth of the colors are on a different level. I feel that my eyes are less tired even after working for a long time.
◎ Quietness/Heat management
The fan noise is a little noticeable, but it is within the acceptable range as it only happens when under load. The heat is only slightly warm on the bottom, so there is no problem using it on a desk.
△ Battery life
Due to its high performance, the battery drains a bit quickly. It lasts about 5-6 hours for browsing or document creation, and about 3-4 hours for video editing. A charger is essential when going out.
2. Multifunction printer (Brother MFC-L2880DW)

・Price 40,700 yen (Yamada Denki)
・Reason for purchase
An essential item for administrative scrivener work. First, regarding whether to choose laser or inkjet, I chose laser considering printing speed and long-term cost-effectiveness. It would be nice to have color or A3 support, but the price would be several hundred thousand yen. So, at the beginning of the opening, I decided to use a machine with this level of specs and use the printer at a nearby convenience store.
・Features
Monochrome printing/copying/scanning/FAX/automatic double-sided printing, Wi-Fi connection possible
・Usage experience
The printing speed is fast and the scanning is high-precision. Good balance of cost-effectiveness and reliability
・Installation/Setup time
Completed within 30 minutes including Wi-Fi connection. Smartphone app integration is also convenient
3. External display (BenQ EX2510S)

*This is something I owned beforehand.
・Reason for purchase
I bought it for gaming at the time (lol). I hadn't used it for a while, but I'm using it now because I thought work efficiency would improve if I had a display when opening the office.
・Price Approx. 35,000 yen (Amazon at the time) *Successor model is out
Features
24.5-inch, IPS panel, 165Hz support, blue light reduction
Usage experience
Excellent in both color and viewing angle, making text easy to see. It allows for comfortable office work and video editing.
Assembly, connection
Immediate connection via HDMI or DisplayPort, and assembly is also easy
4. iPad Pro 1st Generation + Apple Pencil

*This is something I owned beforehand.
・Price Approx. 100,000 yen (Apple official in 2020)
・Model/Storage Pro 1st Generation, 11-inch, 64GB model
・Reason for purchase
It was a gift for my 20th birthday. Since then, I have used it for work and private life. I use the iPad for task management and studying.
・Features Used for handwritten notes, signing PDFs, and communicating with clients
・Usage experience Perfect compatibility with Apple Pencil. Useful both in the office and on the go
・Integration Paperless work has progressed by using it in conjunction with cloud storage
5. Lighting spotlight (Le Yaoquan)

・Price: 14,999 yen (Amazon)
・Reason for purchase
Since the office ceiling came with standard duct rails, I bought a spotlight type. I had originally planned to install spotlights to make the office look more stylish.
・Features: Includes brightness adjustment and color temperature switching functions, designed to be easy on the eyes
・Usage experience: Less eye strain during night work, improved concentration
6. Air Purifier (Panasonic F-VC70XU)

*This is something I already owned.
・Price: Approx. 40,000 yen (Yodobashi Camera) *Successor model available
Reason for purchase
I have a house dust allergy, so an air purifier was essential.
I use it because it also keeps the humidity and air in the office clean.
・Features: Includes humidification function, filter type, silent mode available
・Usage experience: Excellent for dealing with dust and odors. The air in the office is comfortable
7. Handy Cleaner (Shark EVOPOWER)

*This is something I already owned.
・Price: Approx. 25,000 yen (Yodobashi Camera)
Reason for purchase
I used a robot vacuum in my personal life, so I bought this to clean areas the robot vacuum couldn't handle.
・Features: Compact and perfect for tabletop cleaning, USB rechargeable
・Usage experience: Useful for cleaning up fine dust and paper scraps. It's convenient to be able to use it as soon as you notice a mess. It is also very convenient for cleaning around the desk in the office.
The office after introducing the appliances

By introducing these products, the work efficiency and comfort of the office have improved significantly!
Finally
In the future, I plan to introduce books I read before opening, business software, stationery, business cards, and seals.
I hope to share "real-world usability" for those who are about to open their own practice.
