The Day a NOTE Magazine Became a Real-Life Event on the Wall

Today, I visited "Tsuzuki Kobo," the venue for the parent-child Plarail event to be held on September 22, 2026.

Although I have written announcement articles, created flyers, and collected rails and scenery parts, today was the first time I actually saw the room where the event will take place.

I drove to the venue this time.
When I spotted the words
Multipurpose Rental Space Tsuzuki Kobo" on the building's directory, the event I had been imagining in my head started to feel a little more real.

And when I entered the room, there was a floor in the center where I could spread out the Plarail tracks, desks and chairs along the walls, and a sink and refrigerator in the back.

I had seen it in photos, but standing in the actual space, the scene of the day suddenly came to mind.
Where should I put the reception desk?
Where should I temporarily store the large amount of rails and scenery parts?
Where should I leave walkways for parents and participants to walk through even if the children are sitting on the floor?

I had only intended to come and see the venue, but before I knew it, I was checking the site like I would before starting construction.
Even at a housing construction site, I look at the empty land and think about where to place materials and the flow of the workers.
This time, I'm not building a house, just laying out blue plastic rails, but the feeling of superimposing the finished image onto an empty space wasn't much different from my usual work sites.

However, what I want to create this time is not a magnificent layout completed by a father alone.
It is a track that the children have thought about, failed at, and built while consulting with other children.
Therefore, on that day, I might have to play the role of holding back my urge to give advice, rather than fixing everything like a site supervisor.
However, since there will likely be many children like my second son who just want to run the trains, if a group of three-year-olds gathers, their father will get serious.

After checking the venue, I actually walked the route from Ichigao Station to Tsuzuki Kobo for the parents and children who would be coming by train on the day.
I checked to see if there were any confusing spots after leaving the station and if the distance was manageable for children to walk, and the venue was truly close to the station.
If I use photos to guide the way, it seems I can explain it clearly even to those coming for the first time.

And what I was most grateful for this time was the owner of Tsuzuki Kobo.

When I talked about the event, they kindly allowed me to post the flyers I brought.
I was allowed to post them at two entrances of Tsuzuki Kobo and even leave some flyers for people to take home.
They were truly kind to accept a private event that had never been held before and for which I didn't even know how many people would come.

The flyer I had been making at home was still just an image on my smartphone.

However, seeing that flyer posted alongside local information made me feel like the parent-child Plarail event was no longer just a plan inside my head.

In a previous article,
I put on a brave face and wrote, "Even if no one comes, I can just think of it as an extension of playing with Plarail in my usual six-tatami mat room."
Of course, regardless of the number of participants, I intend to lay out the tracks in earnest on the day.

However, now that I have actually seen the floor of Tsuzuki Kobo and even had the owner post my flyers, to be honest, I would still be sad if no one came.

On September 22nd, I will cover this empty floor with blue tracks.
And if possible, I would like the area around those tracks to be filled with the parents and children who came to play.
