Others' misfortune is sweet. fafa's misfortune is a lesson. | Salesperson | Failure | Sales | Psychology | Shameful secrets | Psychology | Beginner
Hello!
I'm fafa, the No. 1 salesperson in the note industry.
Today, I'm sharing a record of my failures in note management that you can read in 5 minutes.
In the half-year since I started as a complete note beginner, I've achieved six-figure sales for two consecutive months, with total sales exceeding 300,000 yen.
Because I only talk about successful stories, some people misunderstand, but my note management hasn't always been smooth sailing.
In reality, I've failed quite a bit.
Today, I'll introduce three of my many failures that left a particularly strong impression, partly as a reminder to myself.
I'm writing this article believing it will be a lesson for you, but for me, these are shameful secrets.
Therefore, it is free for those who read my articles regularly.
Once I confirm 100 likes, I will make it a paid article [1,000 yen].
Since this article will likely become paid in a day or two, please be careful of spoilers in the comments section.

1. Failure case of an article for salespeople
When I first started note,
I was writing "articles for struggling salespeople."
As a salesperson myself, my target was struggling salespeople.
I thought my experience could be put to the best use there.
However, when I opened the lid, there were many people who wrote 'salesperson' in their note profiles, but there were almost no
'struggling salespeople'.
This was the same on X.
In the end, time passed without me ever getting the feeling that I was reaching anyone, and I was forced to change direction.
[fafa's lesson]
Before starting note, I thought a lot about who I was reaching.
It was certainly importantto think about who to reach.
But if I was going to think about it, I should have also thought about
'where the target who will buy your article is'.
When selecting a target, assume the flow that will reach the target.
Since I only promote paid articles on note, my target is always someone among you.
2. Failure case of membership management
I manage a membership.
It grew to a maximum of 7 members, but I hit a wall and now there is only 1.
Note that I am still recruiting for the membership, but it has become a membership where you can only read some articles under 500 yen for free.
The reason I started a membership is simple.
Fixed income through membership!
However, when I actually tried it, I couldn't balance membership articles with paid articles.
[fafa's lesson]
While membership certainly provides a fixed income, it was more difficult than individual paid articles when I tried to earn over 10,000 yen.
Those who join the membership can be called my fans.
Naturally, they are also highly likely to purchase paid articles.
However, I learned that if I make articles readable for free through membership, the purchase of individual articles decreases.
Also, this might sound like I'm badmouthing note, but...
The usability of the note membership bulletin board is poor, and communication between members is difficult.
To properly provide benefits other than "being able to read articles for free,"I could only think of things that take time and effort, which made it impossible to do anything else. If I increase the number of articles that can be read for free too much, it becomes hard to increase sales.
And so, the lesson I finally learned is,
If you start a membership aiming for fixed income, the negative aspects are significant if you cannot control the "operation of the membership."
However, I haven't completely given up on membership, and I would like to try it again in a different form.
■ (3) A failure case of the "I will sell your articles" project.
This is a recent story.
I sold a product called "I will sell your articles"
for 10,000 yen.
Despite it being a high-priced product, I received nearly 10 inquiries and purchase requests.
However, as a result of repeated exchanges via DM, the only thing that actually closed was,
the "Plan with accompaniment."
Actually, I had a hidden theme for this project, which waspreventing running out of ideas for my paid articles, and I started it with the feeling of looking for articles to replace my own.
Therefore, I had the thought that I would read all the articles to a level where I could publish them as my own, and that I wouldn't sell anything unless I felt it had value equal to or greater than my own articles.
As a result, I ended up giving advice (meddling) on the paid articles they brought to me, or bluntly cutting off articles I thought wouldn't sell, and the requests for regular sales articles dropped to zero.
The customers have the same psychology, and a fixation arises where “If I’m going to pay 10,000 yen, I want it to be the best product,” making it impossible to find a realistic middle ground.
I am still considering what to do in the future, but realistically, I plan to switch mainly to a hands-on support plan.
[fafa's Lesson]
This project was inspired by the common saying, “The article quality is good, but it doesn't sell!” but I shouldn't have taken it at face value.
Most people are at an earlier stage. The problem of
“creating a paid article that sells”
has not been solved yet.
Conversely, the “lead line” can be handled later. I learned the major lesson that
“the product” is what should be polished.

This is about the only major failure I've had so far in aiming for monetization.
However, if you include the small ones, I am constantly fighting on note while repeating many mistakes and failures.
And the fact that my sales are somehow trending upward despite all these failures is thanks to all of you, my readers.
To be honest, my note is still a hand-to-mouth operation. It wouldn't be strange if sales suddenly dropped.
That’s why I worry, but it’s also fun. Is your note going well? I still have a long way to go. See you tomorrow!

The “Prompt to express your note ability in terms of university and deviation score” that I released the other day
has been successfully updated!

I have updated it so that it can output university rankings and deviation scores more precisely.
Also, I changed it so that the presentation changes depending on the height of the deviation score.
Whether you haven't played with it yet or have already tried it once, please enjoy it.
