We had a blast at Tarugahashi Park!
Fun Disaster Prevention Camp
The fun camp is coming to an end, and we are now heading to the station by bus to disband.
We were well taken care of by the Niigata Prefectural Youth Nature House this time.
Through the volunteers who came from various countries,
I learned that there are many different countries and cultures in the world,
and that there are people with many different ways of thinking.
It would be great if we could accept people with different views from our own and all get along.
Let's help each other out when things get tough.
We were able to learn about disaster prevention knowledge, skills, cooperation, and proactiveness.
Let's stop by Tarugahashi Park

Before heading home, we all stopped by Tarugahashi Park.
It is located close to the Niigata Prefectural Youth Nature House.
It is a fun leisure spot where you can interact with small animals like donkeys and alpacas, and there are also rides like a merry-go-round and go-karts.
"Wow, there's a deer!"
"Over here is an alpaca!"
The friends and volunteers who became close friends through the two-day camp.
They hold hands and pull each other as they run toward the animals.

There are go-karts. The children are excited, as if to say it's impossible not to ride them when they are there.
"Shall we all ride?"
"Yay!"
They hop and skip their way to the go-kart track.
They pair up with volunteers to ride the go-karts.
It feels just like being a racer. It feels so good to step on the accelerator yourself and feel the wind.

After that, we played on the athletic equipment.
Athletic equipment is also useful for training your core. Climbing, sliding, and hanging. They run around playing so much that I'm surprised they still have the energy to play.
The energetic volunteers join in too.
"Want to play tag?"
We were able to spend a fun time running around to our hearts' content.
Building physical strength at the disaster prevention camp
By training your core and strengthening your muscles, you can build a body that is less prone to injury.
In the event of a disaster, you may be required to take actions you never imagined, but if you have built a strong and flexible body, the possibility of getting injured will be lower.
It also helps you maintain a relaxed posture and move more stably.
I hope that by having fun playing together at the end, the disaster prevention knowledge learned during this camp will remain in their memories along with the fun times.
The Children's Disaster Prevention Association prepares camp programs all over Japan. While having a fun time, we teach children things that are useful for disaster prevention. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to answer even just questions.
