White-backed Woodpecker on Mt. Rokko (First Sighting)

I hear a loud, sharp, screeching call of a woodpecker nearby.
Hmm, looking at it, it's red and black.
I take a picture immediately, but it keeps climbing higher and disappears from view.
In the end, I couldn't get any more shots.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker? If it's a Great Spotted Woodpecker at this time of year, that's a valuable record.
A long time ago, there were records of them breeding on Mt. Rokko, but in recent years they are winter visitors.

I carefully examine the blurry footage.
Hmm, (1) there is no large white patch on the back, and (2) there are thin horizontal bars from the upper back.
(3) There are black vertical streaks on the flanks. (4) The entire crown is red.
What fits this description is...White-backed Woodpecker.
They are common in the central part of Hyogo Prefecture, but records within Kobe City are extremely rare.
For me personally, this is my first record.
It really is true that when you go out into the field, you have great encounters.
