Who is R.E.M., the band respected by Kurt Cobain?

It's your male nurse who's been working hard again today!
This time, I'm posting about a band T-shirt I bought recently and some trivia about that band.
Band T-shirts are becoming established as a new genre, and I'm sure many of you like them too.
What kind of bands do you all like?
KISS? METALLICA? NIRVANA? BEATLES?
There are so many wonderful artists and cool designs that it's hard to narrow it down to just one, right? (laughs)
Out of all those band T-shirts, the one I bought this time is...
this one.

Whether you know them or not, please read until the end!
Maybe more people will start to see their appeal (laughs).
This is a band called R.E.M., but I wonder if they aren't that well-known among band T-shirts? (laughs)

So, here is a brief introduction to R.E.M.

By the way, #2 was Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

The reason I bought this band T-shirt this time is because,
actually, I love NIRVANA's music and Kurt Cobain's fashion!
Doesn't that have nothing to do with R.E.M.?
Actually, it has everything to do with them (laughs).

Kurt Cobain committed suicide at his home on April 8, 1994, using a shotgun, and at that time, the music playing from his stereo was
R.E.M.'s then-latest album, "Automatic For The People."
And in an interview before his death, Kurt Cobain said,
"The next album I make, I want it to be like R.E.M.'s latest album, with a floating acoustic sound."

Kurt Cobain had a friendship with Michael Stipe during his lifetime and was apparently in talks for a collaboration...
Perhaps Michael Stipe was concerned after seeing Kurt Cobain being mentally cornered.

After Kurt Cobain's death, R.E.M. wrote a song called“Let Me In”

and expressed their condolences to Kurt Cobain through music.

As you can see, it's a band that actually has a very deep connection to Kurt Cobain.
Besides Kurt Cobain,
Thom Yorke of Radiohead,
Chris Martin of Coldplay,
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam,
and many other artists seem to respect R.E.M.
