The Person I Like
I thought about what kind of person I like.
A kind person? A cute person? A beautiful person? A funny person?
The answer is "someone who does what they love." And I especially like people who enjoy doing that with all their might.
Because of my job, I often talk to people from the grandparent generation. People who have lived a long time have experienced so many things, so it is very interesting to talk with them.
Among them, there was someone whose hobby was traveling. It seems they traveled abroad a lot with family and friends since they were in their 20s and 30s.
The stories I hear from such a person are full of real voices that only someone who has been there would know, like "That ocean was beautiful," "The food there was delicious," or "That wasn't so great." I feel that they have been good at finding what they love and enjoying it since back then.
And I thought, "I like people who do what they love". I also think this might be what it means to live with a sense of self.
Because I have often been swayed and drifted by various things until now, people who have a firm sense of self are a kind of aspiration for me.
If there is anything I can do now, it is to find things I like every day and have curiosity. And I think that in order to find what I like, I first need to try things out.
I have a habit of thinking "I won't like that" before I even try it. If I keep doing that, my curiosity will never grow.
That is why I want to continue to increase the things I like and am interested in through conversations with various people and my own experiences.
And when I become an old lady, I want to walk a life where I can look back on fun and happy days, thinking about all the things I loved doing.
