Monthly Review to Keep Writing on note | How to 'Connect the Dots' with ChatGPT [With Prompts]
Good morning. This is kinu.
Thank you for coming to visit.✨

Continuing to write on note is harder than you might think.
I've been thinking about that a lot lately.
I see creators I met when I first started note.
Some who used to post frequently have gradually stopped updating or have moved to other platforms.
Of course, it's not about whether one way is better or worse, but I simply feel a sense of sadness.
I myself haven't been able to keep writing articles smoothly all the time.
In fact, there was a period in June when I stopped writing.
I didn't go as far as wanting to quit note, but
I felt that 'I wrote more interesting articles last month'
and struggled with publishing new content.
At that time, what helped me get back on track was my monthly review.
If I hadn't done a review, I think I would have been lost for a bit longer.
Looking at the numbers, lining up the articles I wrote, organizing what was fun and what was difficult, and having ChatGPT look at it with me.
Only then,
'This month wasn't just bad'
'This was a challenge that will lead to the next step'
I was able to realize that.
This time, I will write about
the method of reviewingwhich I feel is very important for continuing on note.
I hope this becomes a review that connects to the next idea, rather than just a record.
Reviewing is the foundation for continuing on note
I don't think writing ability is the only thing needed to continue on note.
Of course, the ability to write is important.
But it's difficult to continue for a long time with just that.
What I feel is important again recently is
repeating reviews, verification, and experiments
Don't just post and finish.
Don't just look at the numbers and finish.
Don't just get depressed and finish.
Why did it grow?
Why did it sell?
What was difficult?
What was I doing when I was having fun?
As you look at those things, you gradually see what you should write next.
For me, when exciting article ideas come up, it's when I have an 'insight'.
Input something.
Compare it with my own results.
Review it.
From there, discomfort or discoveries are born.
That insight becomes the idea for the next article.
For me, a review is not a debriefing session, but
a precious time to create the next idea.
You don't have to review perfectly from the start
When people hear 'review,' they tend to think 'I have to summarize it neatly,' but you don't need to make it a polished piece of writing from the start.
I first just write down the words as they come to mind.
・What I did this month
・Articles that grew
・Articles that sold
・Things I enjoyed
・Things I struggled with
・Things I noticed
・Changes in numbers
・Things I want to try next month
You can use voice input or just bullet points.
It's okay if your writing is a bit messy.
The important thing is to get what's in your head out into the open.
If you also send your dashboard data, it becomes easier to organize comparisons and trends in views, likes, comments, and other numbers.
I realized that reviewing with numbers is important so that I don't rely solely on intuition.
Connecting my dots to keep writing on note
To keep writing on note, the act of writing itself is important.
But I think reflecting after you write is just as important.
Things that grew, and things that didn't,
things that sold, and things that didn't,
things that were fun, and things that were painful.
If you leave them as they are, they all look like separate, disconnected dots.
But when you organize them, you might find they actually form a single line.
What was I experimenting with this month?
What was I struggling with?
What reached my readers?
Where are the possibilities for next time?
When you can see that, how you move next month changes a little.
A review might not be a reflection meeting, but rather
a strategy meeting to keep writing on note.
Take some time at the end of the month to look back on your posts.
And try connecting this month's dots into a line.
Just doing that will make it a little easier to keep writing on note.
The ChatGPT prompt I actually use
This is the prompt I found easy to use for my monthly reviews.

What I think is especially important here is the perspective of
“What happens if you connect this month's dots into a single line?”
as a viewpoint.
Articles that grew.
Articles that sold.
Things I enjoyed.
Things I struggled with.
Changes in numbers.
Each one looks separate on its own.
But when you line them up,
“This month was a month where I acted with purpose”
“I spread my genres too thin, and my focus became blurred”
you can sometimes see a clear flow, like these examples.
Once you see this “line,” it becomes easier to decide what to do next month.
Things I noticed in June
For me personally, June was a month where I spent a lot of time standing still.
The number of articles was lower than last month, and “Are this month’s articles more interesting than last month’s?” I found myself overthinking things like that.
Because I spent so much time standing still, I feel like I was able to face what I 'truly want to do.'
On the other hand, this past month, besides writing articles, I also spent time building a foundation—organizing my work page so I could receive job requests, reviewing the flow of my articles, and expanding my social media presence.
At the time, I thought it was a 'month where I couldn't write as much as I wanted,' but looking back, I realized it was also a 'month where I was preparing for what comes next.'
If I hadn't done a review, I think I would have just ended it by thinking, 'This month was a failure.'
But when I lined up the articles I wrote, the numbers, and my actions, I realized there were actually quite a lot of things I had accomplished.
That is precisely why I feel that a review is not a time to blame yourself for 'what you couldn't do,' but a time to find actions that lead to the next step.
The effects of a review appear a little late
Honestly, when I first started doing reviews, I sometimes thought,
“Is this actually useful?”
But after continuing for a few months, I have finally started to feel the effects recently.
Articles that grew.
Articles that sold.
Themes that got a good response.
Projects I enjoyed working on.
Reasons why my writing stalled.
By looking at these little by little every month, you start to see the habits in your own content creation.
When I look back at what was important for growing my note,
in my case, I think it was not just posting and being done with it.
Not just looking at the numbers and being done.
Not just feeling down and being done.
What went well?
Where are the areas for improvement?
What should I try next?
I think it is only by looking that far that it finally leads to the next move.
In closing
A review might not give you answers right away.
But as you continue, you may find that events that seemed disconnected start to link up little by little.
Take a moment at the end of the month to stand still and look back at your content.
And try connecting this month's dots into a single line.
Even just doing that might make it a little easier for your future self to move forward next month.
Let's do our reviews at the end of the month, enjoy our content creation, and keep going!
Let's do our best together✨
