Wooden Fish Essay [Weekly Short Short Note]
"School starts tomorrow. Have you finished your summer homework?"
"Almost... just a little bit left."
"You haven't finished your essay, have you?"
"I'm going to do it now."
I'm not good at writing essays about wooden fish. For now, I'll write about when I went to my grandfather's memorial service.
I went to my grandfather's 33rd memorial service. My father said this would be the last one.
Because it was the last service, many relatives gathered. What surprised me was that everyone had the same name. At school, I'm the only one with my name, so I thought it was strange that people with the same name would gather in the same place.
The monk arrived, and the chanting began. I sang B'z's "Ultra Soul" in my head, keeping time with the pok-pok-pok rhythm of the wooden fish.
When the monk struck the singing bowl with a "ching," I accidentally shouted, "Hai!" All my relatives were holding back their laughter.
I thought B'z was amazing for creating "Ultra Soul," which even fits the rhythm of a wooden fish.

Thank you for every week.
