Sausage Constellation Meteor Shower [Weekly Short-Short Note]
I was gazing at the night sky while sitting around a bonfire with my father.
“Oh, a shooting star.”
“Where?”
“You’re so slow, Dad.”
“Oh, there it went!”
“Whoa! Whoa! There are so many of them!”
“I see. So it was the Sausage Constellation meteor shower.”
What looked like shooting stars were actually missiles exchanged in an interplanetary space war. It all started from a trivial dispute between the meat industry and the vegan industry. The meat industry had claimed that calling something a sausage when it contained no meat was food fraud. Mocking this, it came to be called the Sausage Constellation meteor shower.
“Does a war really start over something like that?”
“Wars are things that happen over a single word.”
“Is that so?”
“Everyone has a sanctuary they absolutely cannot yield, and you must never touch it.”
My father was biting into a sausage as a snack with his drink.
“Oh, that.”
“What’s wrong?”
“That’s the special spicy sausage Mom was looking forward to for breakfast tomorrow.”
“Oh my god!”
“Another war is about to start.”
