I took paid leave and went to Karuizawa for a tennis school training camp.
On the way back, I stopped by a souvenir shop in Karuizawa.
A bookmark made of a leaf caught my eye.
It was reasonably priced, I think it was 300 yen.

When I gave the bookmark to the young lady at the office, she happily accepted it.
She was an avid reader, and it seems the leaf bookmark was a precious item to her.

The distance between us closed rapidly, and we started going on dates.
And then, I proposed at Nakano Momijiyama Park.

The following January, the young lady became my wife.

That was the moment the leaf turned into gold.
