I was providing support, yet I couldn't understand my own situation
As part of my work, I would accompany users to their appointments and sometimes handle procedures on their behalf.
I thought I understood the process for applying for medical support for independence and mental disability certificates.
I believed I had a grasp of how things flowed.

—
So, honestly,
when it came to my own situation,
I thought I would be able to figure it out to some extent.
—
But in reality,
I didn't even know if I was eligible to apply as an individual,
and I had to start by checking with the city office.

—
Even though I had been so involved in it.
—
I was a little surprised myself.

—
But now I understand.
—

When you become the person needing support,
your very ability to make decisions drops
due to anxiety and exhaustion.
—

Even if you have the knowledge,
you are no longer in a state where you can 'use it'.
—
It's not so much that the system is difficult,
but that using it in that state is difficult in itself.
—

That's why,
it's not enough to just have 'someone who knows',
I realized we need 'someone who can organize things together on the spot'.
—
This isn't a special case,
I think it's happening everywhere.
—
The gap between those providing support and those needing it.
The role that bridges that gap is still lacking.
—

What I want to do
is exactly that.
