✒️The Struggle of Making Clothes for Achondroplasia... No. 14 [Challenge]
[Challenge]
When I look back on myself, I want to be able to hold my head high and say, "I gave it my all."
I believe that results follow actions and are born from causes, so I will start with action...
There are times when I want to do something but can't...
There are times when I don't want to do something, but I have to...
There are times when I try something and find I can actually do it...
So, when I can, I will start moving.
To avoid giving up before I even try, to avoid running away, I will move forward little by little... without rushing... forward...
While finding my own way to enjoy this, I will try to do things my own way with a smile.
AchondroplasiaWhen it comes to making clothes for
Qualifications... I don't have any of those.
Experience... AchondroplasiaI was busy enough just facing the reactions of those around me regarding my child with Achondroplasia. But I feel that this experience is being put to good use.
I have always been able to smile properly, you know.
Raising children is tough... even now, as my child grows, the worries increase, the content changes, and there are many decisions to make.
But I am always able to smile properly.
The only time I cried because of my child was when I found out my child had a disability while still in the womb, and then, just before giving birth after accepting that reality and recovering, my doctor said,
"Maybe they don't have a stomach...?"
Being knocked down after having recovered was truly painful. That day, when I cried so much without caring who was watching, and was dragged to another room while being supported by two nurses, was the last time (lol).
In the end, my second son, who came to me, did have a stomach, and he has grown up to be a child who loves to eat.
Don't overthink it... things will work out the way they are meant to...
No, no, things will work out, they will turn out fine...
Ever since I decided to think that way, I've been able to see my surroundings better.
For now, I'll just go with the flow. I believe that is the best way for me to live.
AchondroplasiaI have a child with .
Why was I chosen?... Since I was chosen, there must be something I need to do, right?...
I have always raised my child while thinking that.
And I reached the conclusion that this selection came with the perk of being able to [challenge] myself...
AchondroplasiaThe clothing problem for , it's worth tackling. In addition to that, letting many people know about the disease called Achondroplasia. It would be great if I could increase that number one by one.
I'll do what I can, it doesn't have to be perfect.
There are plenty of people who can replace me.
There are people who are more dexterous and can balance various things better... if such people follow in my footsteps... then even my failures will have meaning.
I believe that both examples of failure and examples of success will be useful.
※Designated Intractable Disease No. 276 / AchondroplasiaI would appreciate it if you could read my previous notes regarding .
The first thing I tackled was the clothing problem... I'll write about the details later, but fundamentally speaking, it was
《How do you make clothes? 》
If it's just for my own child, even if they hate it, if I measure every corner, I can at least get some numbers.
But from there, how do you turn something flat into something three-dimensional...?
I couldn't imagine it. Of course, I could have gone to school, studied, and crammed in the knowledge... I'm sure that was one way.
That might be the legitimate way.
But what I chose, recklessly, was to call every apparel company and sewing factory in the neighboring prefectures, one after another.
First, when I searched for companies and factories in my local area, about 10 came up.
I vaguely set my sights on one and called the first factory.
"I'm sorry to bother you while you're busy. I have a question... I want to make clothes for a child with a disability as an individual. I'm looking for a place that will make them for me."
Well, if someone says that from the start, anyone would be surprised, right?
While they were still surprised, I added another one,
"I only have home economics level experience in sewing. I've never worked in the apparel industry, but could you make them while consulting with me?"
When I told them that,
"I'm sorry, we don't deal with individuals. I'm sorry I can't be of help," and the conversation ended (lol).
Well, that's how the first time goes. If they don't deal with individuals, it can't be helped. I understand, I understand.
The first time was within expectations... I have to convey it in different words, more clearly, so that it reaches the other party...
It was just the beginning of my [challenge], which didn't hurt or itch yet.

Thank you very much for reading until the end today.
Right now, I am carefully proceeding with the production of pants (hem length adjustment... patent pending) and skirts... but I am struggling because I cannot find the fabric to use for mass production... It seems there is a slight difference in the fabric that can be used because the company that made the samples and the company that will do the mass production are different. Even so, I hope to produce the best possible items.
And along with that, the draft for the crowdfunding (READYFOR)is about 80% finished.
I'm hitting a wall there too. Is it okay to just have people donate? Or should I aim for a form where I make something and give it as a gift...
Regarding this as well, I want to worry about it a little more and find the best way.
Without rushing, carefully...
One step at a time while enjoying it.
This is my motto.
