📚255: Keeping the Conversation Going! The Secret to Talking with a Sense of Security

🟠 Prologue 🟠
- Introduction -
Hello, I'm Tochamin.
I usually read for about 30 minutes a day.
From that, I have condensed the things that left an impression on me and the insights I learned
into tips for living!
I hope they are useful for your daily life too♪
This time,
it's about tips for having conversations with a sense of security!
※ Please also take a look at this article
regarding the reasons I continue reading and what I learn (^^)!!
🟩 Reading Details 🟩

🟥 Lesson ① 🟥
- A mindset for not stopping the conversation -
There is a limit to
how long you can keep talking about any topic.
Sometimes you might try too hard to expand the conversation
and get stuck on the same topic forever,
but this is not good small talk.
In times like these,
it is fine to go back or repeat things.
As long as the conversation rally continues,
there is no need to feel like you
must always move forward.
By declaring to the other person that you are going to return to a previous topic
and winding back to the point where it was lively,
the conversation will come back to life.
Rather than blindly trying to expand or deepen the conversation,
it becomes something both parties can feel secure about.

🟦 Lesson ② 🟦
- How to create the atmosphere of the setting -
Do you have an ideal of wanting to be good at small talk
and running the show like a moderator?
People who are bad at small talk
often have this kind of ideal.
However, people have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Rather than forcing yourself to aim for the moderator type,
it is better to aim to be a lubricant
that softens the atmosphere.
As a simple practical tip,
repeating the words you heard as they are is easy to incorporate.
Example)
I recently found a shop with delicious cake!
→ Cake, huh!
If you repeat the words the other person used,
they will perceive that you are interested in what they are saying,
making it easier for them to talk.

🟣 Epilogue 🟣
- Summary of this time -
Through my reading today,
I learned tips for having conversations with a sense of security!
Are you afraid that the conversation will stop
during small talk?
It is okay if the conversation doesn't move forward!
As long as the conversation rally continues,
that is all that matters!
By returning to the point where it was lively,
the conversation will come back to life.
Rather than blindly trying to expand it,
returning to previous topics or repeating things
makes it something both parties can feel secure about🗣️
Also, for those who are not good at small talk,
I recommend becoming the lubricant for the situation!
Instead of trying to force the conversation,
just repeating the words you heard
will be taken as you being interested in the topic,
making it easier for the other person to talk.
By softening the atmosphere in that way,
if both you and the other person can feel at ease and talk more easily,
it seems like human relationships would become a bit easier, doesn't it?💖
If you are thinking,
"I'm bad at small talk and can't keep the conversation going..."
"I want to be able to talk without feeling so pressured!"
If you feel that way,
why not try practicing
the secret to keeping the conversation rally going?
