My Daughter's Engagement Ring
Hello, this is Pandagorogoro.
Today is a short story.
Since I tend to write long posts, I thought I'd try something quick for a change.
Well, I previously shared a story about how I made a careless remark regarding wedding rings and got scolded by my daughter.
Back then, when my daughter told me, "I chose a Cartier Love ring for my wedding band," I replied honestly,
"Oh, that's nice, isn't that the one that looks like the eyes of a dogu figurine?"
I said this because I was happy that she had found a wedding ring she liked.
My daughter fell silent.
Then she said,
"Mom, you always say things like that. Don't you think about how it makes the other person feel?"
She scolded me in a low voice.
Yes, she was right.
It certainly does look exactly like the eyes of a dogu figurine, but it is a wedding ring.
I must not say everything I think and feel just as it is.
As mentioned briefly in that article, for my daughter's engagement ring, she wanted a diamond eternity ring, so she went to the store with her fiancé to purchase it.
The engagement ring is a Ponte Vecchiodiamond eternity ring,
and she decided on the Cartier Love ring for her wedding band,
so this was a report that they are currently waiting for them to be ready.
Ponte Vecchio has many pieces of jewelry with cute designs, and I used to love wearing a ring I bought there when I was younger.
Now, my daughter uses that ring after having it resized.
Now, onto the main topic.
The other day, when I went to my in-laws' house in Chigasaki to celebrate my mother-in-law's 90th birthday, we had this conversation.
Me"Oh, you're wearing both your wedding band and engagement ring today."
Daughter"Yeah, the designs don't clash when stacked, so I often wear them together."
Me"It suits you! (I must be careful not to say dogu) "
Mother-in-law"Is that the engagement ring with the diamonds all the way around?"
Daughter"Yes, it is. I went to the store and chose it with [Name]"(my daughter's husband)""
Husband"Hmm, what's the name of the shop?"
Me"It's Ponte Vecchio, right?""
Daughter"That's right, but it's funny. [Name] can't remember the name of the shop, so when his friends asked him where he bought the engagement ring, he said..."
"Ponde Ring"
That's what she said, apparently.'
......A ring is a ring, but that is quite a thick ring.

By the way, Ponte Vecchio means 'Old Bridge,' and it is the oldest bridge in Florence, spanning the Arno River in Italy.
