[Shocking] Has heatstroke prevention gone beyond the realm of mere "prevention"? A complaint about the life-threatening, extreme heat that hits the moment you step outside!
Honestly, isn't summer these days just too hot?
When I was a child, feeling unwell during this season was called "sunstroke" or "heatstroke."
Apparently, in the year 2000, the medical community unified the term to "heatstroke."
...Yeah, that's a bit of trivia for you (laughs).
However, human countermeasures are always slow to catch up.
Because we are chasing the times, our countermeasures never keep up.
I feel like the external environment (the global environment) is advancing far beyond the speed of human evolution.
That's why I think about it.
The phrase you often hear in society: "Take thorough measures against heatstroke!"
...Huh? (laughs)
No, no, we have already gone beyond the dimension where taking measures makes any difference.
I can understand the advice to "stay hydrated frequently."
In fact, even when I'm in an air-conditioned room, I can feel the moisture being sucked right out of my skin.
By the way, the environment where I am exposed to the harshest conditions is when I go out for my hobby of photography.
During work, the office air conditioning is blasting, and frankly, I even feel "cold."
So, during my lunch break, I intentionally go outside and come back saying, "Ah, that's warming."
If anything, the moment I step outside to go home, I think, "It's warm, I'm happy..." (the room is just too cold).
But when it comes to shooting in the summer, it's a different story.
I drink tons of water and wear a neck cooler.
I hide frozen plastic bottles in my bag, install a fan to blow air inside my shirt, hold a handheld fan in one hand, and use a parasol.
...Just try to imagine it.
"So, how am I supposed to hold my DSLR and take a picture??"
I look absolutely ridiculous.
And even with all that heavy equipment, the heat is so intense that I can't think straight, and I end up returning home for dear life without having taken almost any photos—a situation that feels like a comedy sketch.
Seriously, this heat has completely exceeded the temperature range suitable for human activity.
The news keeps urging people to "take thorough heatstroke prevention measures when going out," but this is no longer at the level of "let's be careful"; it is adisaster-levelevent.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has special warnings for 'storms,' 'blizzards,' 'heavy snow,' and 'high waves,' and advisories for 'strong winds,' 'thunder,' 'dense fog,' 'dry conditions,' and 'low temperatures,' right?
Instead of just having our phones 'beep' with heatstroke special alert warnings, I really want them to officially add 'high temperature' to the warning framework, because the heat is seriously life-threatening.
And when it reaches warning level 4, couldn't the government declare a nationwide 'stay-at-home' order?
Could some politician please actually draft this as a bill and get it passed? (Seriously)
