"One Day" — When a Chance Encounter Changes the Future
After returning to my home country, I felt an intense desire to "meet people."
This is a song I wrote while capturing that feeling exactly as it was. The lyrics are entirely in English.
Now, I live my life with the help of many different people.
One Day
[Verse 1]
The usual street corner, the usual street
The usual train, the usual station
Same time, same place
Same space, same scenery
Seasons change, the weather shifts
The usual faces, the usual light
Day begins, and day goes by
The usual crowd, the usual noise
Still I walk, take a deep breath
Same time, same place
Same path, same footsteps
Feelings change, gazes shift
Everyday moments, everyday talks
Laughing, getting mad without thought
What makes today different? It just passes by
[Chorus 1]
Among countless chances, there’s a chance encounter
Is it friendship, or is it love?
Is it rivalry, or just a fleeting moment?
Encounters are always like that
Yet that one moment moves the future
Holding on to that quiet hope
[Verse 2]
The usual park, the usual clock tower
Walking in the usual shoes, the usual way
Something’s different, something’s the same
A little change, like me, perhaps
Changing seasons, changing clothes
Changing days, changing moods
A little discomfort, a little excitement
A little sadness, someone’s tears
[Pre-Chorus]
A fleeting encounter, passing in a flash
The usual hopes, the usual regrets
Something’s different, something’s different
Hiding fear, locking it inside
Words are said, but hearts still hide
Another day passes, as if nothing happened
[Chorus 2 – Repeat: Chorus 1]
[Bridge / Breakdown]
Passing faces, passing streets
Every moment, every heartbeat
Small encounters, fleeting glances
Should I stop or keep on walking?
[Chorus 3 – Repeat: Chorus 1 x2 ]
[Outro]
The usual streets, the usual sights
Another day ends, another day begins
Holding on… to that quiet hope
Even in our ordinary daily lives, there arechance encountersthat happen suddenly.
Whether it is friendship, love, or rivalry—at the moment of meeting, you don't know the answer.
However, one thing is certain: what makes this very moment right now isthe accumulation of small coincidences from "that time."That is why I want to cherish every little event that happens in our day.
It doesn't have to be special.
It just needs to be something thatquietly remains somewhere in the heart.
Is there a "One Day" lurking in your daily life that could shift your future?
I would be happy if this song could accompany you at some point in your day.
