"Rain Sounds" — The speed of walking alone, the weight shared with someone
In an empty room, only the sound of rain echoes. This story begins from such silence.
I used to chase only the "sounds of the past," unable to notice the presence right beside me. However, there was a landscape that finally came into view when I noticed the sound of someone walking behind me in a fleeting moment and learned the difference in our stride.
In this world where it feels uncertain to be alone, I wanted to lean on someone, even if it's clumsy. Just as the rain blurs the outlines of the city, I turned into a song that wavering of the heart where the boundary between my shell and the outside world seems to melt away.
Rain Sounds
[Opening]
An empty room
Only the sound of rain echoes
Lingering reverberations
Shaking in sync with my heartbeat
Holding my breath
Standing up quietly
Without a destination
Just moving forward
[Verse 1]
The scent of early summer
The temperature rising little by little
A sweaty shirt
The sky looking different every day
Covering the city
A gentle drizzle
Swaying at my feet
Many puddles
Only the sound
Drifts softly
[Verse 2]
Chance or design — undefined
Paused for a moment, off the line
Rain coming down, steady, low
Blurring the edges, moving slow
Heat, then cold — fade in between
Crossing the lines, barely seen
Letting the moment unfold
[Chorus 1]
This world is already
Uncertain when I'm alone
Being there with someone
Searching for a place that wavers
I want warmth
A presence that leans in softly
It's okay to be blunt
I just want to feel it there
Flowing away
Like clouds
[Verse 3]
I was only chasing
The sounds of the past
I missed the presence
Right beside me
I suddenly noticed
The sound of someone walking behind me
And softly told them
To walk in front
The moment I stepped in
I noticed the difference in speed
My feelings started to rush
Suddenly, I stopped
My heart softly
Holds me back
The warmth
Was there
[Verse 4]
Passing the warmth along
Held close, where it belongs
Keeping the ember alive
Soft in the dark, it stays alight
Shadows shift, quietly
Holding a trace of light
Keep it alive in this moment
[Chorus 2]
This world is already
Too uncertain to face alone
Even if it's just one person
We can share the weight
Searching for warmth
No matter how much I wander
I realized that conveying warmth
Is also necessary
[Outro]
The sound of rain
Is echoing
Softly
Only the sound of rain is echoing
I was thinking about the "humidity" of a rainy day.
On humid days, the way sound travels and the weight of the air feel a little different than usual. If only we could share that weight with someone instead of carrying it alone. When I realized that "conveying warmth is also necessary," the sound of the falling rain began to sound a little different.
Even a blunt kindness is fine. Just the realization that someone is there with you can be such a salvation.
While waiting for the sky to clear after the rain, I hope this song becomes a small warmth that stays close to your heart.
P.S. I wrote these lyrics all at once on the train ride home after a night out. Looking back now, I realize that the words and feelings that only come out at moments like that were also an undeniable part of who I am.
