【My article was featured】The feeling of "the message I wanted to convey has reached someone," revealed by curiosity
The other day, my article was featured by the husband of a mother of two who graduated from the University of Tokyo.
He runs an interesting project called "I will feature your article." It is a paid service, but I applied thinking of it as an investment to deepen my self-understanding.
I have been writing sporadically for about eight months now, and
my curiosity was piqued about "how I am perceived by others..."
He finished it into a very attractive piece of writing. I want to learn from his writing style that captivates readers for my future growth!
What made me happiest was this particular comment.
When it comes to parenting, listening to people who "have it all together" isn't really helpful, is it?
"Well, you can do it because it's you."
Something like that.
That's why, for someone like Kenken-san,
"I was a total mess too,"
when someone says that,
and tells the story of how they seriously crawled out of that hole and faced their children,
it really resonates.
Exactly!
This is what I always felt when I read parenting articles written by dads during the time I was struggling myself.
"That's only possible because you're an excellent person like that, right?"
When I was in the darkness, this was my reality!
Please don't misunderstand me; I think everyone is doing truly wonderful things.
Five years ago, rather than content about "struggling and suffering in the gap between reality and ideals,"
🩷Since I've always liked children, I'm happy that the idea of "men doing housework and childcare" is becoming more widespread and acting as a tailwind!
🩷I am a man who has successfully led numerous big projects. I will work hand-in-hand with my wife to make this big project called parenting a success!!
It felt like the internet was overflowing with articles where amazing people (perhaps they just weren't showing their struggles) were effortlessly and smartly doing amazing things under titles like that.
Whenever I read such sparkling stories while I was in the depths of despair, trying to encourage myself, I would end up feeling like I was a defective product...
(Again, I am truly sorry for this selfish impression! Once I regained my heart, these things became nourishment and medicine!)
There was a time when I desperately searched for articles by dads who were also in the dark, just to feel some sense of calm.
(I never found any, though...💦)
Time passed, and once I regained my mental health and gained the confidence to say, "It's awkward, but this is my style," I decided to start writing on note. At that time, this is what I was thinking:
"It's true that my life is turning around now. But as the starting point, I will write about myself when I was at rock bottom exactly as it was. The number of people might be small, but by doing so, I might be able to become a salvation for someone who is suffering like I was back then."
Therefore, being featured like this makes me happy and gives me confidence, knowing that "my intentions have truly reached someone..."
(My writing is calm, but inside, I'm doing a little dance (lol))
It was a good opportunity for self-understanding.
Once again, I would like to thank the husband of the mother of two who graduated from the University of Tokyo for providing this opportunity.
