A radio show for students who don't attend school, created by me, a student who doesn't attend school
Nice to meet you. I'm KEITO, a second-year junior high school student who is currently not attending school.
This is my first note post. I'm still getting used to everything, but I would be happy if you could watch over me warmly.
Self-Introduction - My Place -
This might be sudden, but what kind of image comes to mind when you hear the words “school non-attendance”?
Perhaps words like "spoiled," "socially maladjusted," or "running away" might come to mind?
I stopped being able to go to school when I was in the upper grades of elementary school. It was because my personal traits didn't fit in at school.
Even when I opened my smartphone at home, I felt like I was being left behind by everyone, and I felt a sense of loneliness, thinking, "There is nowhere for me to belong."
My mother told me about a new option called “alternative school.” I decided to enroll in that alternative school because it was online rather than in-person.
Changes after enrolling
There are many children there who have unique traits or have had painful experiences at school. Because children who know each other's feelings and emotional pain gather there, it has become a place where I want to stay forever.
It is a one-of-a-kind place that taught me, someone who had a painful experience by being too fixated on one path, that "it's okay not to be the same as everyone else, and it's good because everyone is different."🥰
The challenge of radio
While I have been well taken care of at the alternative school for a long time, I learned about the existence of "children who cannot even enter the online school building." Upon learning this, I thought they might be harboring the same "loneliness" that I used to feel. As a result of thinking about how to tell such children that they have companions, I came up with the idea of a radio show that can be listened to with just ears.
Here is the radio I am actually broadcasting.
The feelings I want to convey through radio
If you are harboring loneliness just like I used to, or if you feel that your place is nowhere to be found... As someone who has had the same experience, I want to gently deliver the message, “You are not alone, you have companions.”
Things I want to challenge myself with from now on
Right now, I am broadcasting a radio show aimed at children who cannot enter the school building, but from now on, I would like to make it a radio show that reaches students not attending school nationwide. I think there will be many difficult walls to climb, but I will do my best to take on this challenge in order to warmly support children who are harboring loneliness.
To everyone who is not attending school
If you feel like you "have no place to belong" just like I did in the past, why not leave a footprint on this article and make it your place? I am waiting for your comments.
I would be happy if my feelings were conveyed to those who read this article.
Thank you for reading this far.❤️✨
