Actually, I was a complete newcomer who had never watched a Spider-Man movie before. Worried about whether I could keep up, I quickly checked out some recap and prep videos on YouTube before heading to the theater—but to put it simply,"Doing the prep work was the best decision! And I'm so glad I saw it in the theater!"I left the theater feeling completely satisfied.
In this review, I will share the appeal of this film from the perspective of a Spider-Man beginner, without any spoilers!

To use an analogy, it's like the despair of walking into your favorite cafe you've visited for years, only for the owner to smile and say, "Nice to meet you, welcome."
Even while carrying such loneliness, he stands up not for praise, but for his own sense of justice and responsibility. While the structure hits deeper for long-time fans who know the history and relationships of the characters, the theme of a "lonely hero's conflict and resolve" is so simple and powerful that even a first-timer like me was drawn into the story immediately. I also appreciated the well-balanced, lighthearted banter that kept the tone from becoming too heavy.

Visuals: High-Impact Swing Action! A Sense of Speed Only Experienced in Theaters

When it comes to visual expression, the word "masterpiece" is an understatement.
Spider-Man's signature web-swinging is,"like being on the latest high-performance VR attraction."The camera work moves in every direction, and the sense of speed as he races through the canyons of skyscrapers is an experience only possible on a massive theater screen, never to be replicated on a home TV or smartphone.
Also, what personally struck me was Spider-Man's fighting style. Using not just his physical abilities and spider webs, but also high-tech suits and various gadgets he creates himself to overcome situations, is a dream come true for gadget and mecha lovers! Personally, the scene where he fights while talking to his home AI via VR was intense!

Music: The Contrast of Emotions Painted by a Dynamic Score

Since I watched the subtitled version, I couldn't hear the much-talked-about Japanese dubbed theme song by Mrs. GREEN APPLE in the theater, but the brilliance of the background score was remarkable.
In the high-impact action scenes, a grand, heavy orchestra that resonates in your chest maximizes the hero's dynamism. On the other hand, in the quiet drama parts where Peter stands alone, the "silence" created by stripping away the music emphasizes his loneliness even more.
To use an analogy,"it's like a sudden acoustic guitar solo during a loud rock concert—a philosophy of pacing that shakes your emotions."It is all condensed into this film.

Acting: Tom Holland's "Persuasiveness" and the Chemical Reaction of an Unlikely Duo

Tom Holland delivers a wonderful performance, exuding a "strength born of pain" within his youthfulness. Even without knowing the context of "Peter's growth" that long-time fans talk about, his expressions and presence alone convey how much he has been carrying, making his performance incredibly persuasive.
Also, the team-up scene with The Punisher is a must-see. The tense interaction between Spider-Man, who has taken a "vow not to kill," and the extreme Punisher, who will do anything to achieve his goals, adds the perfect accent to the entire film.

Perhaps the real thrill of Marvel is being able to savor the 'depth that comes from a world built up over many years,' which is different from the 'wide-open accessibility' of reboot works like 'Superman' in recent years, or the 'sense of security where you can enjoy it flatly every time even as a first-timer' like 'Detective Conan'.
It was a film that reminded me of my boyhood, making me feel like my walking speed had increased a little after leaving the theater!

[A question for everyone!]

I am a Spider-Man beginner, but Spider-Man is also part of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), right? Taking this work as an opportunity, I've become interested in watching other MCU works! The pamphlet also had a ton of explanations about Marvel, but it was just text, so I didn't really understand it (lol).
