Feel Refreshed in 3 Minutes: The Neiguan Pressure Point to Ease Body Heaviness Caused by Atmospheric Pressure
Good morning, this is Mackie.
I received a message from a reader saying, "Lately, my head feels heavy because of the atmospheric pressure..."
And I realized I've had moments where I thought, "I totally get that!"
At times like that, I suddenly remembered the Neiguan pressure point on the wrist.
It's actually quite effective for changes in atmospheric pressure and body sluggishness.
Located three finger-widths toward the elbow from the center of the wrist crease,
this Neiguan point, found between the tendons,
provides broad support for motion sickness, nausea, chest discomfort, heart palpitations,
and even headaches and dizziness.
When I'm on business trips or traveling by train, I try pressing it lightly,
and I've experienced the sensation of chest tightness gently easing away.
You reading this,
don't you also find your body feeling heavy
while traveling or when the weather changes?
How to press it is very simple.

With your palm facing up, use your thumb to press between the tendons for 3 to 5 seconds, then release for 3 seconds.
Just repeat this about three times.
Combining this with deep breathing will help both your mind and body calm down.
It's even called "P6" in medical settings,
and it's reliable enough to be applied in anti-nausea wristbands.
At first, I was skeptical too, but
when I press it while stressed at work,
I feel, "Oh, it's working."
To describe this pressure point in one phrase,
it's "a small reset switch that unties chest tightness."
If you feel your body is heavy, try gently touching your wrist and taking a deep breath.
It feels as if the waves in your head are receding,
and both your body and mind will feel lighter.
