SORACHI and Onigiri Action?
The other day, I learned about this beer from Akimine-san's article.
It said SORACHI on it, didn't it?
I wondered if Sorachi meant SORACHI, so I checked.
It turns out it's a hop from Kamifurano Town in the Sorachi District of Hokkaido.
People outside of Hokkaido probably don't have a clue when they hear Sorachi.
Hokkaido is so vast that it's divided into 14 subprefectures.
My hometown, Asahikawa, is in the Kamikawa Subprefecture.
The Sorachi Subprefecture stretches 130 kilometers from north to south,
making it about the same size as Mie or Ehime Prefecture.
Actually, I was born in this Sorachi region too.
"You're an Ezo kid, aren't you? Have some sushi."
"I was born in Sorachi."
I don't think anyone uses famous lines from naniwabushi anymore, though.
It seems the precious hops harvested in Kamifurano Town, located in the south of Sorachi,
are the legendary Sorachi Ace.
I had absolutely no idea about that,
but it sounds like a tasty beer.
Since that's the case, I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm a fan of potato shochu, so I bought just one bottle.
I didn't have high expectations, but
frankly speaking, this was a craft beer.
It's completely different from the taste of canned beers I've had before,
and since even a potato shochu fan like me found it delicious,
it will likely be welcomed by craft beer lovers.
This might just become a legend, as the can says.

The number one ranked item on "Hitasura Tameshite Ranking",
Aono Dokutsu's Creamy Bolognese.
They say the onigiri you make with this is exquisite.
You grill the onigiri made by mixing spaghetti sauce into rice,
but I find it hard to believe.
Anyway, I bought that sauce,
and used half of it for spaghetti.
In the midst of all this, I learned that Onigiri Action is being held again this year.
If that's the case, I have no choice but to participate again.
Mix the spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese, and rice,
and then just grill it, so it's easy.
It smelled great while grilling, so it was sure to be a success.
My wife was lured by the good smell.
"Where's my share?"
Actually, it was only for myself, so I had to split it.
After trying it, I have to say, this was a good idea.
So I decided to post a cover image.
I'll skip the details, but just by posting,
it seems it helps children in unfortunate circumstances.
Onigiri Action ends on the 16th, you know.
