We love Divers.
[I have posted the images together first. Please take a look at those as well if you'd like.]
I am in the middle of my 'Buying Watches' series, but
I bought one.
I bought a detour watch.
I think even I am a watch junkie with no self-control, buying two in one month.
Moreover, it's an older model, not a current one. It's not like its value is going up.
(Although, since it's used, I was able to get it for about half the list price.)
There is one instance that broke my self-control.
The release of the Tissot PRX Damian Lillard model.

It's so cool, it gives me chills...!
It was a model that was not mentioned at all in the various web media I check every day.
Although it was displayed on the official website, no newsletter arrived... in other words, it landed in Japan quietly.
Fortunately, I recently received a consultation from a junior colleague who is interested in watches.
I can highly recommend the PRX as the ultimate entry-level model in my opinion,
and it is actually a model I use and love myself.
Regardless of whether I recommend it or not, it all started when I happened to look at the official website to check the Tissot lineup again.
...It's insanely cool!!!
I immediately set up an arrival notification, and a few days later,
I received an arrival notice.
However, some hesitation had also arisen within me.
I already own two PRXs, a 40mm and a 35mm,
and I also have a SEA STAR.
Is it too biased to have four Tissots, and three of them are PRXs...?
I'll go to the boutique and see the actual product before deciding. Though I'll probably buy it almost immediately.
While I was worrying about that, it sold out...!
I don't know if it's a limited edition (there is no announcement of how many are limited), but
because it is a Limited edition, and the arrival notification email said
"This product is limited in quantity,"
I probably lost my chance to get it.
If I contact the boutique, maybe they have some stock in the store.
But rather than having the passion to go that far to get it,
I decided to give up, thinking it wasn't meant to be this time.
There is also an element of hesitation, and it would be bad for the watch if that turned into regret.
However, the 140,000 yen budget I had intended to spend was now free.
(Actually, that's not the case. Don't kid yourself.)
I wanted to vent this frustration somewhere, and as a result, I ended up buying this.

EDOX Sky Diver NEPTUNIAN
EDOX is one of the brands that has gained recognition in the watch world over the last few years.
(Although it has a long history, having been founded in 1884.)
Famous watch channels on YouTube also feature it frequently.
Because it is reasonably priced even in the current situation where prices have risen sharply,
it is also a brand I have been secretly keeping an eye on.
Now that my collection has become reasonably substantial, I have no interest in ordinary three-hand watches, even as a side quest.
I want something with a standout personality, something that tickles my fancy.
That's where the Neptunian comes in.
An astonishing 1000m water resistance.
The green high-tech ceramic is also an enticing point.
While I like a retro feel, I've also harbored a longing for this kind of modern, glossy look.

Being a big, thick watch with a 44mm diameter and 15.6mm thickness is actually a plus.
If this were my first watch, I would never choose this size,
but in an era of shrinking watch sizes, I'm the contrarian weirdo who dares to choose a big, thick one.
There is another big reason why I chose this model.
That is also the reason why I dared to choose the older version,
as the current model does not have the "Sky Diver" text at the 6 o'clock position.
After this model was released, a clear distinction was made between the Sky Diver and Neptunian series.
While the color variations of the older model were carried over, the dial markings and bezel design were changed.
It's a minor point, but I'd like you to compare them and see the difference.

Also, the rotating bezel has numbers.

The rotating bezel is simple, with only bars.
Now, if you look at the model I purchased again...

It's a transitional model, with the Sky Diver text intact but the new bezel!
Looking closely, there are many parts that reflect the price.
Especially the metal bracelet and buckle; I wish they had put a bit more effort into them...
I heard the links on the current model are slightly thicker,
but the buckle...?
Since the case is heavy, the balance isn't exactly great.
To begin with, though.
With my 16.5cm wrist, even after removing all the adjustment links, it's still loose!!! Haha

Because of that, it ends up hanging on my wrist...
Well, I'll just call this a style of wearing an over-spec watch as a city diver...
I find this choice interesting myself, having built up a substantial collection, accumulated a fair amount of knowledge, and cultivated a variety of sensibilities.
Oh, that's right.
By the way, I cannot swim.
