The Wall Was Alive (Ep.3 | Hikaru Museum)
Every wall has a heartbeat — if you take the time to feel it. 💫
A wall that feels alive, filled with the heart of a true craftsman.
Do you remember the wall from the underground tunnel I talked about before?
Dad told me something amazing —
that wall was made using a traditional Japanese technique called “sakan”,
where skilled plaster artisans shape soil and sand by hand.
One of Japan’s most famous plaster masters, Shuhei Hasado, created it.
When he applies the earth, he doesn’t make it smooth on purpose —
he presses, scratches, and leaves marks with his fingers,
letting the wall breathe and tell its own story.
No machine could ever make something like that.
Each curve holds the warmth of human hands.
Just like when I paint and put my feelings into every brushstroke,
Hasado-san puts his heart into every layer he builds.
That’s why his walls look so alive.
Someday, I want to create something that carries life inside it too.
