We Saw This at the Museum, Right? (Ep.26 | Hikaru Museum)

During a morning walk,
Teru picked up a small stone lying by the roadside.

“This—we saw this at the museum, right?”

Huh?
I almost said, It’s just a stone,
but stopped myself.

On the way back from the supermarket,
he stopped in front of a large painting on a wall.

“This color looks like that painting.”

At night, before bed,
turning the pages of a picture book, he murmured,

“The dinosaur bones looked like this, didn’t they?”

He wasn’t trying to remember.
He wasn’t trying to explain.

It was just that
what he had seen
was quietly blending into the world around him.

That’s all.

The knowledge Teru learned at the museum
might not come back as words anymore.

But—
stopping when he sees a stone.
Noticing a color.
Remembering a shape.

Those things are still there.

“That’s amazing—you remember,”
I said.

Teru thought for a moment, then replied,

“Yeah.
It just feels… like I know it.”

Not knowledge.
Not the right answer.

Just that
the world he’s seen before
has grown a little larger.

And that alone
quietly changes everyday life.

🌱 A small afterglow

A museum works most quietly
after you’ve left it.

Today too,
the world felt just a little wider.
