■ Impressions
Had a kushiage lunch at Kushinobo in Roppongi Hills.
There are about three lunch menu options, and I always order the middle one, the "Samayo Course." It is a highly satisfying set that includes ten types of skewers, a meal, fresh vegetable sticks, and dessert consisting of brown sugar jelly and a sweet treat called Amamabo.
The higher-tier "Mugen Course" includes my favorite "Crab and Whiting Roll," but I am fine with the standard skewers rather than the special ones for today, and I figure I can just have the "Crab and Whiting Roll" when I visit for dinner.
For the meal, you can choose from "White Rice and Red Miso Soup," "Obuzuke (Tea over rice)," or "TKG (Egg over rice)," but I always choose the Obuzuke here.
After the skewer course is finished, topping the rice with salted kelp and rice crackers, then pouring hot tea over it to finish the meal, is always the best.
What is mysterious about Kushinobo is that despite it being deep-fried food, I never get heartburn no matter when I visit. I can safely enjoy it deliciously until the very end.
Thank you for the meal.
