[Fumi Lab] I'm starting a membership.

Hello. This is Fumi Kazayama.
I'm thinking of starting to write paid articles little by little from now on.

I want you to understand this, but my scope of activities is gradually expanding.

And so, the things I want to do keep popping up one after another, and I'm in a state of wanting to do this and that.

I want to conduct interviews that can serve as a catalyst for young people to think about education and the future,
I want to create an independent bookstore where people can connect through the books they've read and talk over coffee,
I want to create an inquiry-based cram school for middle and high school students who have forgotten how to inquire,
I want to create events where adults and children can think and dialogue on the same level,
and I want to ask teachers about education in Europe (like Denmark) to learn about it.

Ever since I stopped going to school, these ideas have been overflowing. There are so many that I'm organizing them in Notion, and I currently have 121 notes.

And, as written in my profile, I am currently "struggling to incorporate independent research into my daily life🔥".

That said, there are many things I want to challenge myself with.

However, in order to continue the things I want to do at a minimum (the activities, presentations, and interviews I'm doing now), I've been managing my travel expenses with my allowance plus a little help from my parents, but even travel expenses have become no joke.

And I also want to study to gain the knowledge needed to take on these challenges.

Of course, I'm still borrowing books from the library and reading them almost every day.

But, as expected, there are books not in the library, and although I take measures by taking notes,I can't read them thoroughly. Books I want to read thoroughly are usually masterpieces, and you have to read them until you've squeezed every drop of meaning out of them to understand them.

I'd be happy if they were available as paperbacks, but there are so many I want to read...

When it comes to specialized books on education, philosophy, and sociology, it's common for them not to be in the library, and because they are specialized books, each one is expensive. My allowance just can't cover it anymore.

And my family has many children, and we aren't exactly high-income, so asking my parents to cover any more is at its limit (and it's my own selfishness, after all).

After all, learning and taking action.
Even just standing at the starting line comes with the hurdle of money.

If it were a large project, I would give a presentation and look for investors, but that's not suitable for learning, small challenges, or just continuing to cover travel expenses.

Therefore,I decided to start a membership.

About the membership

It's called the "Fumi Research Institute".

In this membership, I plan to write about:
・Philosophical and niche content on note
・My honest opinions on various modern issues
・Sharing new project proposals and ideas
・Real-time progress of projects
・Lessons learned from massive failures
・The current status of book cafes, interviews, etc.
・Serious analysis of books I've read (summaries and impressions are free)
I intend to write about these.

In other words,
「content that is deep, honest, and close to the real Fumi」
will be written for the membership.

If I were to publish things like my honest opinions on modern issues or the real-time progress of projects for free,it would raise concerns about personal information, and it might become too blunt because it's so honest. Therefore, I will make it membership-exclusive.

Of course,I will continue to write free content as usual.

However, I just thought that if things become increasingly specialized from here on out, it might become a burden for those reading it...

I have a fear that perhaps I should be writing notes that are more lighthearted and easy for middle and high school students to read, and if I end up becoming too niche before I know it, no one might follow along...

The post I made this time, "How the recent young people who are proud but low-ability, blame others, and get depressed easily are created," is a typical example of that.

This is well over 10,000 characters, yet it continues with niche topics that are each short enough to read in 3 minutes.
So, I think it takes quite a bit of effort for the reader as well.

Also,I will create an online community called "Fumi Research Institute" on Discord.

Here, I am thinking that we can do:
・Philosophical dialogues and discussions on various themes involving both adults and young people (monthly)
・After-talks with interview guests
・Information sharing and brainstorming ideas (from participants)
・Experiencing content for events and upcoming challenges
・Sharing files such as worksheets
I hope to make this possible.

And there is one thing I want to promise!

That is,to share how the money you trust me with is being used.

For example, for that month's funds,I will roughly report on the books and equipment purchased, the costs if used for events, transportation expenses, and the portion set aside for savings toward major goals (of course, to the extent that it doesn't touch on personal information).

By joining the membership,
you are trusting my future, my learning, and my character.

Therefore, I believe that if I don't properly reciprocate that, I would just be a thief.

That is precisely why,I decided to declare the transparency of the money from the beginning.

Membership will officially start in April.

The reason is that there are still few paid articles and the server isn't set up yet, so if you join, I can't provide any value in terms of content....

For now, I have created the membership and set up the plans.

I would be happy if only those who say "That's fine!" or those who just want to support Fumi would join.

Of course, if you don't want a monthly commitment, there are various other ways such as purchasing individual articles, buying magazines, or supporting with any amount you like via tips, so please really don't feel any pressure 🙇
