I am the "Life Enjoyer".
"Life Enjoyer"
One day, I came across these words.
The reason is that a friend recently lent me a novel called "Pakki Paki Beijing".
It was a phrase written on the obi strip.
That phrase was "Life Enjoyer".
Before reading it, I just felt,
"Hmm. A 'Life Enjoyer', huh?"
and nothing more.
However, Ayame, who appears in the novel, enjoyed her days so freely that she could only be described as a "Life Enjoyer".
"Pakki Paki Beijing" is a story about a wife, Ayame, who goes to China in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic because her husband is there.
If it were just that, it would feel like an ordinary novel, but Ayame's personality transforms it into something completely new.
She is a person with an "optimistic," "free," and "crisp" personality.
"Well, it'll work out somehow," she says
as she enters a Chinese restaurant without knowing the language,
"It's empty because of COVID, so I'm lucky," she says
as she enjoys herself, and she possesses a mindset that allows her to distinguish between "my life and other people's lives."
She easily overcame the quarantine period after arriving and enjoyed it.
She chose the alcohol provided by room service.
She drank it while looking at the sea from the window of her quarantine hotel.
She played with her beloved dog, Pei Pei.
She enjoyed the quarantine period without letting it get to her.
After the quarantine period ended and she went to her husband, her "Life Enjoyer" ways continued.
Since it draws on the author's own experiences, it has turned into a strangely realistic novel.
Well, what I want to say is that it's 'damn interesting'.
Life Enjoyer
If I keep talking like this, it'll end just like that, so let's calm down a bit.
What I intended to talk about this time is 'How to become a life enjoyer?'
I usually think, 'I want to live a life that would be made into a drama'.
If anything, I also think, 'I want to live a life that people would bet on'.
Because, if I could live a life as dramatic as a TV show, and as full of sudden twists and wild developments as something people would bet on, I think I could die happy.
I think I could die happy if I could live a life that is dramatic enough to be made into a show and full of sudden, wild developments enough to be bet on.
This is also based on a novel.
It's a novel called 'Naruse Takes Over the World' and 'Naruse Follows the Path She Believes In'.
The high school girl named Naruse in this novel is just interesting.
I can confidently say that there is no other high school girl who fits the words 'beyond expectations,' 'fantastical,' 'free-spirited,' and 'the best' better than her.
If I were living in the same world as Naruse, I would say, '10 million on Naruse's life!'
That's how confident I am that Naruse lives an interesting life.
That's why I want to live a life that is 'made into a drama' or 'worth betting on'.
And Ayame, the protagonist of 'Pakkipaki Beijing' that I read this time, had the same vibe as Naruse.
'Beyond expectations,' 'fantastical,' 'free-spirited,' 'the best'
She is a person who fits these words.
And they are likely 'life enjoyers' to the fullest.
I am enjoying life as if I am savoring it from one end to the other.
I, too, want to savor life to the fullest.
So, I decided to look for the common traits of those 'Life Enjoyers'.
So that I, too, can call myself a 'Life Enjoyer' starting tomorrow.
Common traits
When I look for common traits, they probably look something like this.
'Experience' instead of 'Failure'
'The journey' instead of 'Success'
Do not hand over the reins of your life to others
Have your own source of happiness
Have goals
Enjoy even the unexpected happenings.
Find something fun every day
Take immediate action
If you're going to do it, be bold
Don't worry about what others think
Aren't there many points that make you stop and think?
In fact, I am also being made to stop and think.
When I put it into words like this, various things become clear.
I want to turn everything into an article.
However, this time I would like to briefly explain only the ones that caught my attention.
Failure is experience. Success is a journey.
First, regarding point 1: 'Not failure, but experience'.
Neither of these two thinks of 'failure' as 'failure'.
They think of it as 'experience'.
Even if they fail, they let it go with a 'well, that's fine' and use it for success, thinking 'I'll succeed next time'.
They are turning even failure into a staircase to success.
Furthermore, they also think of 'success' as a 'journey'.
When they succeed, they rejoice with all their might.
And then, they think, 'Shall I try it again?'
In other words, success is not the goal, but continues on an extended line.
Beyond that, they encounter new 'fun'.
That journey is shining very brightly.
Enjoy even the unexpected.
Another thing I noticed is the idea of "enjoying even the unexpected."
Naturally, "unexpected things" happen to those who "enjoy life."
Well, since they are always taking big leaps and jumping into happiness, unexpected events are an everyday occurrence for them.
Most people equate "unexpected events" with "trouble," and end up stumbling or failing.
And then they start saying things like, "If I hadn't tried, I wouldn't have gotten hurt."
But those who "enjoy life" are different.
They treat "unexpected events" as "attractions."
They ride the big waves like surfing and enjoy them.
Every time something unexpected happened, they looked happy and seemed to be having fun.
Time and time again, they were enjoying it.
It was as if they thought of it as "a nice spice to life."
Certainly, you cannot force unexpected events to happen.
Therefore, overcoming those unexpected events means gaining a rare experience.
In other words, it's like a "super rare event in a game."
A stampede, for example, is incredibly tougher than usual.
But in return, the reward might be an overpowered weapon.
Well, in short, "enjoying the unexpected"
also seems to be necessary for those who "enjoy life."
Because if you overcome it, you gain experience points that no one else has.
After writing this much, I looked back at the table.
Not 'failure' but 'experience'
Not 'success' but 'the journey'
Do not hand over the reins of your life to others
Possess your own happiness
Have goals
Enjoy even the unexpected happenings.
Find something fun every day
Take immediate action
If you're going to do it, be bold
Don't worry about what others think
Every time I look at this, hope wells up from somewhere.
Because it means I might be able to become a 'Life Enjoyer' too.
Conditions for being a Life Enjoyer.
Perhaps that is the condition for 'living happily'.
Those who enjoy life are people who fully enjoy their entire lives.
Those who enjoy life are people who savor their lives from end to end.
Those who enjoy life are people who possess my happiness.
To get one step closer to being someone who enjoys life, first take a screenshot of the table.
'Take immediate action'
Even if the path is difficult, let's enjoy even that.
Because it's life, after all.
'Enjoy even the happenings.'
My happiness is not something that can be given by others, nor can it be changed by others.
'Possessing one's own happiness'
'Not handing over the reins of one's life to others'
The way to fully enjoy life,
a certain free and refreshing high school girl,
and a certain sharp and optimistic Beijing conqueror,
taught me.
Next, it seems they will also appear from Japan.
