*Beyond the Escape

In the midst of war, the rescued children were loaded onto a truck. No one knew where they were headed.

On the way, the vehicle overturned due to a missile strike, and the surviving children scattered to escape. The boy kept running without looking back.

The boy, separated from everyone else, arrived at a "sunflower field." He hid himself in the vast field of sunflowers that were taller than he was.

In the silence of the night, the boy was all alone. Exhausted, he fell into a sleep that felt like losing consciousness...

Feeling as if he heard a voice saying "Good morning..." the boy opened his eyes.

If you're hungry... why don't you eat my seeds? They're delicious, you know?

Did a sunflower... just talk to me?

It's true... they are delicious. Thank you!

The boy greeted the sunflowers before he began to eat. A few seeds from each sunflower...

His hunger was satisfied, and he felt a little bit happy for some reason.

Even so, he was still worried about the other children who had escaped with him...

He heard a voice as if the sunflowers, all facing the sun, were singing in unison.

It was like a nostalgic sound... one the boy had once longed for... like when he missed his mother in his memories...

The singing voice became a great chorus... radiating from the entire sunflower field toward the sky, toward the sun.

It was as if it were the wish of every single sunflower☆

We are all... children of the sun... aren't we?

The boy felt as if he could understand the sunflowers' feelings, and
when he looked up at the sky... he closed his eyes against the glare☆

Even so, suddenly, he was wrapped in the sun's gentle warmth,
and it felt as if he himself had become a sunflower.

In the vast 'sunflower field' that stretched to the ends of the earth,
the boy who had become a sunflower, from that day on...

became a child of the sun.
