Things to remember when you are lost
When you are lost,
people tend to look for an "answer."
Which one is correct?
Which one will not lead to failure?
Which one should I choose to feel secure?
However,
as long as you search that way,
your confusion will not easily end.
—
Because,
the problem is not the "options."
It is not about what you choose,
but where you are choosing from.
If that is unclear,
nothing you choose will feel right.
—
When you are impatient,
you choose based on that impatience.
When you are anxious,
you keep choosing the path with the least anxiety.
That may look like a choice,
but it is just a reaction.
—
Therefore,
there is only one thing to do when you are lost.
Before trying to find an answer,
take a moment to "return."
—
Steady your breathing.
Return to your physical sensations.
Create a pause.
Then,
a little distance will form
between you and the event.
—
Even if you "return,"
it does not mean anything special will happen.
Just, for a brief moment—
Create a little space between
the events before you and yourself.
Things that were too close to see until just now
will begin to be seen "as they are."
It does not mean your impatience will disappear.
The problems will not vanish either.
But,
the feeling of being swallowed up will loosen just a little.
Just by knowing this sensation,
you will be able to choose again.
⸻
When you choose from that place,
even if it is the same choice,
it will feel completely different.
You do not have to rush.
You do not have to try to guess the right answer.
Just,
while confirming that you are not misaligned with your inner self,
you will be able to choose again.
⸻
It does not mean you will stop feeling lost.
Even so,
you will no longer be swallowed by that confusion.
⸻
If you are feeling lost right now,
there is no need to force a decision.
Just,
try taking a single beat.
⸻
Within that single beat,
there is a position from which you can choose once more.
⸻
And if,
you find yourself lost in the same place over and over again.
At that time,
it is helpful to have "words to return to."
So that when you need to,
you can return as many times as you like.
For that reason, I am leaving these words behind.
I have compiled them as "words" so that you can return whenever you need to.
