[Movie Review] MONDAYS: See You This Week!
Thank you for reading today as well!
And to those who are new or just passing by, thank you for stopping by!!
I watched "MONDAYS: See You This Week!" and am going to review it.
I would be happy if you could stick with me until the end.
Let's get started!
What kind of movie is it?
Akemi Yoshikawa, who works at a small advertising agency and gets through every day with various tasks thrown at her, welcomes Monday morning at the office, but she wakes up to the incident of a pigeon crashing into the office window.
There, two of her juniors, Endo and Murata, tell Yoshikawa, "We are repeating the same week."
However, Yoshikawa, who was mentally overwhelmed before a presentation to an important client, brushes it off and dives into her work.
But when she wakes up the next Monday morning to a pigeon crashing into the window, memories of the previous week flash back, and she realizes that the week is repeating.
Will they be able to escape the time loop?
Who is in it?
The director is Ryo Takebayashi,
and the screenplay is by Ryo Takebayashi and Saeri Natsuo.
The protagonist, Akemi Yoshikawa, is played by Wan Marui.
Department Manager Tokunaga is played by Makita Sports.
One of the two who noticed the time loop, Takuto Endo, is played by Koki Osamura,
and the other, Ken Murata, is played by Yuga Mikawa.
Yoshikawa's direct senior, Sotaro Moriyama, is played by Kotaro Yagi.
Moriyama's boss, Ichiro Taira, is played by Haruki Takano.

Time Loop
This story is a comedy about how the three people, including the protagonist,
who realized they are repeating the same week
at a small advertising agency with a total of 7 employees,
try to escape from the time loop.
What I laughed at the most
was the process of the three people who first noticed the time loop
trying to convince the highest-ranking person among the 7, Department Manager Tokunaga,
that they were in a time loop.
The method was a "top-down request," where they had to convince their immediate boss,
and have that boss convince the boss above them, which was a very rigid, salaryman-like approach.
In the first place, I think that if you were to do such detailed groundwork in a company with only 7 employees,
work wouldn't get done, but
this strange setting felt ironic and personally hit the spot for me.
A system where you can keep gaining experience
As long as you don't escape the time loop,
you repeat the same life over and over again, but
if you repeat the same life many times,
you know what the other person is going to say, so you can take the initiative.
Naturally, even in the top-down request, you know what the boss is going to say,
so it becomes easier to persuade them, and since you know the client's demands in advance,
the quality of the presentation also improves.
Having said that, it's not just about the time loop
Writing this much makes you think this movie is about
escaping from a time loop, but
actually, it's more than that.
While it depicts them searching for a way to escape the time loop,
several underlying stories are also depicted,
but I hope you can feel that for yourself when you watch it.
Summary
At first, I thought it was just a time loop movie,
but it also depicted something like a sub-story,
and it was a movie I enjoyed more than I expected.
The rhythm was good, and it never became monotonous,
so I was able to watch it until the end without getting bored.
The overall length isn't that long either,
so it's easy to watch and I recommend it.
That is all for this time!
Thank you for reading until the end!
