About Me (Self-Introduction): Psychiatrist, Housuke Kaya

Nice to meet you, I'm Housuke Kaya!

It's been 13 days since I started note, and I'm writing my self-introduction (I should have written it sooner...).

As of today (April 20, 2024), about 3 years and 6 months have passed since I started note. I think I'm no longer a note beginner😤 (self-proclaimed veteran noter).

By the way, Housuke Kaya is a pseudonym (pen name).

The reading is phonetic (it's not “Kyosuke”. It's “Housuke”!).

The origin of the name comes from the “Owl of Minerva”, which is a symbol of wisdom.

There is no particular reason for Kaya (maybe it just sounds good?).

• Occupation: Psychiatrist

• Position: Psychiatric Hospital Deputy Director (I've been the Director since August 2024!) / Former Associate Professor at a National University (retired March 2022)

• Degree: Ph.D. in Medicine

• Qualifications: Physician, Designated Mental Health Physician, Board Certified Psychiatrist, Occupational Physician

• Age: Late 40s => I've already turned 50😱

• Gender: Middle-aged man => Or rather, an elderly person😅

• University Graduated: A certain former Imperial University

[Things I Like]

• Wine: I like full-bodied reds like Pauillac and Amarone. For whites, I prefer sweet ones like Sauternes. For sparkling, I like Bollinger Champagne (James Bond's favorite!).

• Italian food: I'm happy as long as there's pasta.

• Metal Slime: On Twitter, Metal-kun often makes an appearance (lol).

• Lupin the Third: I want to be like Daisuke Jigen...

• Reading: Mostly professional books (does that even count as reading?). I often read novels by Yukio Mishima.

• Music: BUMP OF CHICKEN, Sakanaction, Ringo Sheena, Ketsumeishi, etc. Recently, I often listen to Eve and YOASOBI (influenced by my children).

• ASMR: I've been hooked on it lately! It helps me get work done! => I especially love rain-sound ASMR!

[What I want to do on note]

• I want to spread knowledge about psychiatry and science through my articles.

• Actually, I am currently writing a novel (though I haven't published it yet...). I hope to release it on note eventually.

• I want to interact with various people through note.

• In 2023, I wanted to compile my note articles and publish them on Kindle! => 2026 is definitely the year... 😭
