■ PR Points

・A free template created by a perfectionist, PC-tapping text-writing otaku, meticulously crafted for personal use!
・Includes title page, table of contents, page numbers, and colophon, so you can start copy-pasting your manuscript immediately without difficult settings!
・A B6 size that takes the best of both A5 and A6 Bunko!
・Follow the manual to easily switch to a two-column layout.
・Follow the manual to change the bleed settings.
・Most templates are provided as finished products without explanation, but this one includes setting guides, so once you master these, you can freely create manuscripts to your heart's content!

↓ When changed to B6 two-column (8.5pt font size).
B6 allows you to choose between one or two columns! (Explanation on how to change is included in the template)

B6 Two-Column 22 characters x 19 lines

I've confirmed that when odd and even pages are flipped and layered, the text doesn't misalign when printed as a book!

※ If you want it to be perfectly aligned without even 0.1mm of deviation, please do your best with InDesign or similar!

■ Template Distribution

The top is a Word file, and the bottom is a PDF for display verification.
Everything is created with GenEi Chikugo Mincho v3, so if the font isn't installed, it might look misaligned.
(※ For proper symbol display, please be sure to use GenEi Koburi/Chikugo Mincho version 6.1a (2025/03/06) or later!)

Note
※ All instructions are written inside the template, so please read them
※ Please adjust as needed
※ Please use within common sense, avoiding misuse, redistribution, or claiming as your own work
※ In my environment, when I copy-paste a "♡" from another editor, it changes to the symbol font only for that character and for some reason cannot be changed later. I input hearts as "◆" in the other editor and then do a bulk replace to "♡" in Word.
※ Created using Windows 11 and genuine Word. If your environment is different, please be sure to preview in Adobe Reader at the end to confirm it displays correctly.

Request
・Credit is not required, but if it helps you, I would be happy if you could share the article or support me ♡

■ Update History

・Updated to ver1.1 on 2025/3/22.
Adjusted style font settings to the latest versions of GenEi Koburi/Chikugo Mincho
※Please reinstall the latest versions of GenEi Koburi/Chikugo Mincho to ensure symbols display correctly! (Details here)

■Differences from other templates

In addition to differences stemming from the size, there are the following differences.
・Regarding the table of contents, I used a format where the title section is written directly into the main text. I think this is probably friendlier for beginners.
※The A5/A6 templates use text boxes.
If adjusting the position is difficult, please feel free to get creative by boldly changing the layout, converting to image format, creating separate PDF or PSD files, or copying and pasting from other templates.

■Side note

By the way, I used the typesetting of Horror Novel Kokuhai as a reference. (It's a Shiroku-ban variant size, close to B6). This one had a very dense impression with 21 lines x 46 characters.
It was a superrrrr interesting modern horror novel!!

Also, The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II is also B6, but the font size here was larger than I expected (9.5pt?). If you want to make a book with large text, you should use this as a reference. (17 lines x 40 characters)

The following is the same side note as the A5 template article.

This template was adjusted for typesetting and margins with the primary goal of readability and the secondary goal of saving page count by packing text.
If you pack it any tighter, it will become a bit hard to read. Expanding it should be fine, but please be careful about horizontal misalignment due to calculation remainders in line counts and line spacing (e.g., page numbers appearing in different positions on odd and even pages). (There is a supplement inside the template.)

It is a fairly standard typesetting (or so it should be), so you can use it as is, or if you want to spread your wings, feel free to change it and make your own unique novel book!

※The "character spacing" is set to zero, but be careful because increasing this will cause dashes (——) to disconnect. Even with 0 character spacing, in the case of "justify," dashes may rarely disconnect slightly due to automatic adjustments, but it is so minor that you can almost ignore it. If it really bothers you, there are methods like selecting just those parts and tightening the character spacing.

■Beginner's Guide

I wrote everything inside the template, so if you don't want to make mistakes, please read all the precautions.
For dakuten (voiced marks) and PDF conversion, which beginners often stumble over, please see the supplement for this paperback template. Please also refer to this for Q&A.

Since there was a brave soul who used the paperback template from two times ago and said, "I was a beginner, but I made up my mind and created all the data for my doujinshi in one day!", I think you can probably make this B6 template quickly as well.

Also, when you think, "I just want to make a book somehow!", you can easily flow your text into the template and then Seihon Chokuso.com can easily print it from just one copy.

Lowering the hurdles for bookmaking! That might be the reason for this account's existence. The "joy" of the moment a doujinshi is finished is truly one-of-a-kind.
