What substance expresses your "worldview"?
✦ Remedies have a "story"
The world of homeopathy: deciphering the "structure" behind symptoms
In homeopathy, we first carefully check the symptoms appearing in a person.
Details such as, "When does it get worse?"
"What is the quality of the pain?"
"What is the sensation at that time?"
Then, we "abstract" that information once.
We re-perceive the symptoms in front of us as a "pattern" or "state,"
and look for a remedy close to that structure—this is the core of homeopathy.
We have the person actually take the remedy to observe the reaction,
and while carefully checking the changes in the body,
we assess the direction in which the person's self-healing power begins to move.
Reading this far, it sounds like a world of precise observation and analysis, but
what makes homeopathy interesting is that each of these remedies
has a background that is like a "story."
✦ By story, I don't mean "emotion," but the "nature" that the original substance possesses
For example, Aconite.
It is a plant that grows in high altitudes, where the environment is very harsh.
Temperatures change rapidly between morning and night, and sudden storms are a daily occurrence.
This environmental nature of being "placed in sudden changes"
is linked to the direction of the remedy.
In homeopathy,
Aconite is often used for "symptoms that started suddenly."
Sudden chills, sudden fever, sudden fear....
It is compatible with the "body's reaction when exposed to sudden changes."
Of course, there is no occult meaning here.
It is a very structural story where the "characteristics" of the environment in which the plant lives
overlap with the "state" of the human corresponding to those characteristics.
✦ When you know the story of a remedy, symptoms are no longer "just an ailment"
By knowing the background of a remedy,
the way you look at symptoms changes a little.
・What kind of "environment" or "quality" is this pain similar to?
・Which remedy's story does that pattern overlap with?
・What is the body trying to recover, and why did it choose this reaction?
Instead of treating symptoms as an "enemy,"
you become able to decipher them as "signs of a state."
The real thrill of homeopathy lies in this "deciphering."
✦ A remedy is not just an "ingredient," but a "direction" that stays close to a state
Just as with Aconite,
Arnica has its own,
Belladonna has its own,
each has its own "story = nature."
We do not prescribe remedies as "ingredients,"
but choose them based on the "direction" of "which state they are most likely to resonate with."
That is why, even if symptoms look the same,
the remedy chosen can be completely different from person to person.
I believe that reading the "story of the state" unique to that person
is the job of a homeopath.
✦ For those who want to take a step forward from here
When you know the story of a remedy,
symptoms are no longer "just an ailment,"
and you can see what state your body is trying to communicate.
