Premenstrual Irritability! Solve It with This Today!
1. Today was a morning where nothing went right.
It's past ovulation, and my period is due soon.
I've been irritable since this morning.
It's not anyone in my family's fault.
For no reason at all, I'm just irritable and frustrated!
My head knows it's because I'm premenstrual.
Maybe it's because the kids are on winter break and I have less time to myself?
Thinking I'd try to refresh my mood, after lunch,
I drove out alone to go window shopping.
2. A day where even going out didn't help
Even though I arrived safely at the place I wanted to go,
the item I was looking for wasn't there.
Thinking maybe I lacked exercise, and because it was cold,
I even tried walking briskly through the large store.
Even so, the irritability didn't subside.
Only time passed.
Gradually, I started wanting to see my children at home,
so I returned home early.
3. I thought I hadn't moved enough
That's it!
I decided to do yoga,
and for the first time in a while, I started this video by B-Flow Mariko on YouTube.
Slowly and carefully, I focused entirely on my breathing.
It was a surprisingly intense video, but
by focusing only on those movements,
before I knew it, I was sweating.
I could feel it working on my glutes and abdominal muscles!
After doing Savasana, I wasn't even bothered by the noisy voices of my children,
and I fell asleep before I knew it.
“Mom, why don't you sleep in bed?”
I woke up to my son's voice.
Usually, I would have gotten up and moved right away, but today
I chose to just keep sleeping in the futon.
4. Result: After sleeping and waking up, the irritability had completely vanished
I moved to the futon and slept to my heart's content without setting an alarm.
It was probably about 30 minutes or less.
When I woke up, the irritability had completely vanished, and my mind felt clear!
It was as if the irritability and frustration from earlier were a lie!
5. Getting back on track wasn't about trying hard
Rather than rushing outward in search of something,
the prescription this time was to look inward and rest slowly.
Recently, I've had almost no PMS-related irritability,
so I panicked because it had been a while, but
with yoga and a short nap, I was able to return to my usual self.
